The frustrating thing is that Lenny appeared to be suggesting that Turnbull isn't quite ready yet.

FFS

Yeah, he's not ready... we always shell out three mil for unready players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s the Celtic way btw. Always too cautious with new players ‘until they learn ra Cellik way n’at’ Witness Jullien being dropped for cluj last year and Frimpong would never been thrown in if Hatem had not got injured.

If Frimpong had a final ball he'd be at Real Madrid

It's the one thing that is lacking, but he'll still create more chances than anyone else in the team.

The left hand side was non-existent going forward yesterday, we need to find a solution and quickly.

Reminds me of the Lustig years, and years, and years....

Israeli Baresi now getting the credit he deserves.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't get why it has taken so long.

Took him a while to settle in. Been top class ever since.mind the Bayern Munich game? Absolutely strolled it.

Great example yesterday. Big Duffy gets the ball, finally remembers what he is meant to do with it and gets it away. Comes back to Bitton under pressure. Big yin just beats his man and plays a sliderule pass up the wing.

Total contrast

Surely his job is to win it and give it to the other two

He loves a header to be fair.

I don’t think when you signed Duffy you thought you were signing Beckenbaur
Was it not about signing a “robust” defender who weighs in up front at times
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I get that but some of his ‘passes’ are wtf moments. Maybe the frantic pace up here has taken him by surprise?

Best performance of the season so far. Fluid and energetic.

Don't want to be that guy but fvck it - told you all that Turnbull was going to be a star. Ok it is early days and one performance but he slotted in perfectly and IMO was better than Christie but they two could have a real battle for that position.

Duffy was signed to hel us deal with nig lumps up top who like a physical game, he was hardly signed to be a ball playing centre back like Ajer. He will compliment them well.

Bitton always does a good job but like Ajer I always fear a mistake when getting ruffled up.

Eddy looked better but still a bit off. His touch is phenomenal though. Him and Ajeti together will scare defences as Eddy cannot get crowded out without fear of giving Ajeti the couple of yards of space he needs.

Bitton's issue as a CB is he's sh!t in the air, lacks the aggression needs in that department, but at the same time there's no one I'd rather see on the ball in our third, puts the whole team at ease with his composure.

I'm a fan of Christie, as frantic as he's been this season he's still inevitably involved in the majority of our goals, his energy is vital to us but he needs to do the basics better, I think his issue is he tries to score or assist pretty much everytime he's in possession rather than wait for the correct moment.

Turnbull in the limited amount of time I've seen him seems like a real contrast to Christie, looks like the type of player who has all the time in the world, very impressed with his technique yesterday, he likes a little Xaviesque dink over the top which with the packed defenses we face could be another option for us.

I think Soro deserves a mention too, written off by many already but for me he's impressed in his last 2 albeit short outings.

All I have seen of him and Celtic is a header he scored can’t remember who against
Be an interesting match up in old firm game him and Morelos
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If Morelos just sticks to his game he'll do fine against Duffy.

But i think maybe having a battle against Duffy will be too tempting for him. With no crowd i think Duffy will keep the heid and smash morelos at every opportunity and the wee man will lose the plot altogether.

Just my guess.

Shame for big Jozo that, although can't say it's exactly a surprise!

Further down I see they're also linking us with a Danish LB ... 25 year old Casper Hojer. Know feck all about him, other than he's 6 foot. Get him signed.

This is true, but I've still been a little surprised by just how slow and agricultural he is, for a guy that had been playing regularly in the Prem until last season. As I've said though, I'm giving him time as I doubt he's close to full match fitness yet, and we 100% needed ANY cant at the back to offer both physical and aerial presence ... to play alongside the assortment of big Jessies we currently have.

Standard Lennon retort.

He really is a fud at times.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Turnbull comes from a mid-table team that have won nothing for years. He's now at Celtic who play at a much faster pace with more creative football. I am sure he is fit but might not have the stamina for 90 mins.
We have no idea what the fitness and training stats are
Give him time and I am sure he will be a first team regular

I don't think he's blessed with great pace but he had a few great headed clearence's and blocks in the 2nd half that most of our other defenders would have ducked from.

His distribution is very poor though.

Just need Ajeti to score a handful of goals in Europa League qualifiers and we'll have a £30m striker on our hands, sought after by all the top clubs across Europe
