Penalty interpretation same for all ?

Nah no way will it all even out. Spurs have been on the end of five ridiculous decisions in the past two or three months alone. Without benefiting at all from any. Even yesterday there were a couple of clear handballs, according to the new rules, in the penalty box that Spurs were attacking, and the ref never even looked at them.

Spurs have had just 1 home penalty in the last 3 seasons, just let that sink in for a moment

38 penalties

You took an average based on three games, compared it to teams who have played two games and then used that for a 38 game projection did ya?

posted on 28/9/20

Seems a bit of a pointless article given not all of those penalties are handball no?

Who remembers the AVB season when Spurs went a whole season without being given a penalty kick, this despite having some of the countries quickest attacking players regularly being unceremoniously scythed down.

There is more chance of shieteing in the Queen`s handbag than seeing Pool or United go a whole season without a penalty.

Who remembers Spurs getting more penalties at Anfield one season than Liverpool did?

It's posts like this that reinforce y view that Steve, Sandy and others are definitely Grade A super WUM's. Fair play lads, you had me fooled there for a bit. You can go back to your own boards now.

I mean, surely no one actually would believe and write crap like this would they? Would they?

Yesterday was an absolute joke though but every team is in the same boat so there isn't much point moaning about it. It is what it is until the rule is changed. We should have been out of sight anyway so only got ourselves to blame. We move on.

More bothered about our finishing tbat out lack of penalties. Easy to hide behing 1 devision when we missed lots of very good chances yesterday.

We should be looking within to impact results, not 1 off decisions which the rules were known before the game. I agree around the consistency element but that is about it.

Excuse the typos

Sounds to me spurs don’t get in danger zone enough, hence lack of penalties 👍

Isn't this one of the reasons they brought in VAR though?

Is the OP serious?

After three games its very probable that the teams that have been given the most penalitoes are at the top.

A penalty is more often than not converted into a goal.

You win games by scoring more goals than the opposition.

At any point in time, some teams will have more or less penalties than others. After only three games, the impact of penalties can be significant. This is neutralised as the season grows older.

The only question is whether those penalties are fair penalties and most of them are indeed good decisions to award a penalty.

Yh billy ignores this kind of stuff though, i once pointed out over a consecutive 6 year period spurs received more pens than what he calls penaltypool. Its swings and roundabout. And ofc the teams who have more touches in opposition penalty box and faster tricky players who run at def and teams who have more shots etc are gonna get more penalties than ones who fail to register a shot on target in 90 mins as spurs have done recently.

Keep trying!

Yes, who remembers Pool have been awarded more penalties in one home game than Spurs have been awarded at home in 3 whole seasons. Both of them gifted also.

Look big teams get decisions over the likes of Spurs, Jose said as much himself and that's why Newcastle got the decision okay?

The fact that Bin Dippers are all over this thread suggests they realize how favourably they are treated, but don`t like to admit it.

Liverpool 3 penalties for 6 against
Spurs 3 for 3 against

2016/17
Liverpool 8 for 5 against
Spurs 9 for 2 against

2015/16
Liverpool 2 for 3 against
Spurs 5 for 2 against

Last 5 years
