I have yet to see the replay, but at the tine, I remember being puzzled when a freekick was given?
I remember one of our players was arguing with the ref when the foul was given.
It came out of blue when the ref pointed to a foul!

Agree with OP. As I have said on other threads. Dier was clumsy flapping his hand around and asked for it. The same thing happened 2 minutes before and he got away with it.
To all those that say he doesn't know where the ball was going-he did. He raised his hand in the direction of the ball.
We should have finished the game off earlier anyway. Just glad we didn't lose. On to the next game now. COYS.

He swung his right arm out as the ball was headed by Carrol.

Nope, you're not the only one. His arm was in the air over his head, why? He made himself bigger and stopped a ball that would have otherwise went passed him, illegally. It's very unlucky but the rules are there to be followed and he didn't follow them and therefore was penalised.
