Telegraph Reporting Dele out of Squad for

He looked a couple of years ago like he would go onto be the highest scoring number 10 the PL has seen. The wheels have come off. I dont think jose can be blamed for shipping him out.

Yep... It’s about the here & now.... No room for sentiment in football. He’s been shlt now for as long as he was good

Sheet is harsh - he still puts up great numbers.

My preference would be loan and abroad.

I still think he's an excellent player, but I'm a pragmatist. Our squad is best suited to 433 and I don't think Dele is currently good enough to get in the starting line up.

If we can get £50m+ take it and get a CB and backup striker.

Reckon it will be a loan if he leaves. Who is going to buy him in this climate with his form over the last 2 years? Surely Levy will want top dollar but who from?

Fack knows but we need to back him or sell him..... this current situation is benefitting neither him or the club

I think most of us would have chosen to play him tonight but the reality is, it would probably have been a typical Dele performance of late where he has little impact.

If he's off then I hope we get a good sum for him and more importantly that we use it wisely.

This..... but I’m not sure who’s paying 50mln for Dele.... He can’t get a game at Spurs and isn’t a current International..... He’s just a talented player who had a purple patch 3 years ago

If he was worth £50m you'd be playing him.

We`ll regret it if we let him go, he is one of the few creative players we have left

posted on 29/9/20

Nobody pays 50m for a guy that can't make a matchday squad.

Loan with obligation to buy seems like the best option for Spurs. PSG the only ones that might bite.

posted on 29/9/20

Well Daniel Levy won't be letting him go for under £50m in a permanent transfer.

I imagine if we don't get that or an obligation to buy for a similar amount he won't be going anywhere.

Loan would be good, especially abroad. Would suit a team like Leipzig I reckon or Roma.

It gets tiresome that Jose can’t manage a squad without picking a public fight with (at least) one player

This was announced this morning (Dele left out).

Jose does really want to send out the message to Levy that we need reinforcement and for me, he is using this cup for hammering home the message. Son's absence also fits the agenda

Dele has good record of scoring against Chelsea as well.

Yeah he does. One of the reasons I wanted him on there as they are terrified of him.

Shame. Jose has decided to play mind games with the club. Purely tactical.

I get what he is doing. It's clear to all.

However, no sympathy with Levy because we have been 1 striker short for 15 months now and it should have been addressed and we have now lost Verts so we need CB urgently.

We live in a day an age of £50m bench players though

If he doesn't let him go though then you may a Ericksen situation again, run contract down, and leave on the cheap. NO-ONE is paying 50 mil for him imo.

It's been mentioned elsewhere that the only way Dele could be out of the club is on a loan deal.

He's got another 4 years left on his contract...

We'll either get big money for him (loan or transfer) or he'll stay.

Basically just like what happened with Ndombele. Dele is Jose's current scapegoat. He'll quickly move onto a new one if Dele stays.

posted on 29/9/20

He will leave on loan. Levy will not get the fee he wants this window. Good for Dele and good for us. Hopefully he will cut down his outside distractions and concentrate on being a footballer again.

posted on 29/9/20

This scapegoat thing is BS. If you play and train well you get picked. If not, you are out of the squad until you shape up. Pretty simple.

Imagine being Harry Kane or Son who give everything in training and on the pitch having to watch Dele float about, thinking he is the bees knees.

Trust in Jose.

Fair enough, didn't know he had that long left on his contract. So Levy basically has him by the short and curly's
