Huge mistake. I can understand last season that Smalling didn't want to be on the bench.
But this season Ole should be grovelling to him and asking him to return.
Instead Ole is sticking to his principles of playing out from the back.
Who needs a defence anyways.
€15mil, is that it? if it was the other way round, Utd would have payed £80mil to buy him.
Dont agree with Ole’s decision to phase Smalling out. It was clear he wasnt in his plans, he wanted to leave so best to get the deal done.

Ship 11 goals in 3 games and sell one of your best CBs, if not the best CB in the current roster for peanuts.

£65m to "upgrade" Smalling to Maguire.
He had to go, it was clear Ole didn’t want him or that Mike wanted to stay. Fee seems a bit small having negotiated for so long but hopefully it means we can bring in a better defender although highly unlikely tonight.

Second worst decision by ole (first is playing pogba as part of a 2 man midfield) was not giving smalling more chances imo
Kinda like lukaku the sale of lukaku. While getting rid of a guranteed goal scorer like lukaku who did not fit ole's idea worked out since we have firepower upfront. Getting rid of smalling before we had the sort of defence we want was and is stupid
