CB - Maybe. But I cant think of a stand out candidate available. Plus Ole should be able to get a good CB pairing from the 6 we have.

DM - Nah. Not for me. We have Fred, Matic, McTom capable of playing that role. Again, Ole Should be able to coach one of them into performing that role.

RW - In Greenwood and James we have 2 very exciting talents there. Adding another would have hindered them both. I look forward to Ole improving James.

Fred, Lindelof, Bailly and James are squad players for me. McTominay isn't really a DM, as much as I'd like him to be - he's a B2B destroyer. Matic has good games and then age seems to catch up with him. Handy player to have but it would be nice to have a younger and more mobile DM.

Part of me agrees that Solskjaer should be able to get more out of what he has, but our strongest XI has question marks at CB and DM and this ought to have been addressed in the window. Greenwood is fine for RW but it won't be his long-term position.

McTominay gets up and down the pitch, getting in opponent's faces wherever it may be. You need energy and aggression and he has it. What you don't need is tactical and defensive discipline and a good passing range.

DM and B2B are completely different roles.

I think he meant a successor further down the line - at the end of the season at the earliest, not in a few days.

Another way of saying what he said is that some of these signings might turn out to be good in the long-term but don't do a great deal to fix the immediate problems.
