Why has he been overlooked by other top clubs though? We ideally want someone who can improve players. Is he a good coach? Genuine question.

A certain Aussie won’t be having this at all.

Apparently he wants to manage a top club in England and has been studying English since he left Juventus.

I am sure we will get his unbiased opinion as soon as he wakes up.

Poch would be the better choice though...

Really. I wouldn’t choose Poch over Allegri.

He's pretty defensive. I would say his playing style is not much like what Ole has been trying to implement. Would be another haphazard appointment that would leave us in a mess.

Poch or Tuchel are the more natural successors.

This is beyond ridiculous now. Ole's job is entirely secure. I don't get why the media are trying to oust him from the role at all. It wouldn't surprise me if Scholes had something to do with it all. OGS is the right man for the job, just need the media to shut up.

People forget that Ole has won a league title before as a manager too. He's actually won the exact same amount that Klopp did before he got the Liverpool job.

2 league titles
1 domestic cup.

Allegri’s a very good manager, but the style of football wouldn’t be the best and I don’t think we’ve got enough proven players, in their prime, for it to work as well as it really could. It’d be similar to appointing Mourinho, albeit not as dull.

Being linked to the United job. He has won things in his career.

So did Mourinho and van Gaal.

Don't think that's the issue with the club moving forward.

I would... I think he would be the more appropriate progression from Ole.

Moot point anyway... Ole's still the boss and we're all behind him

People are acting like Ole’s departure is imminent

I remember Allegri's Juventus were throwing on defenders trying to hold out for the victory against us at OT a couple years back.

He is a defensive manager, there was very little about us for him to worry about in that game.

Yeah I don’t think it’s all that important. Unfortunately, the kind of manager that can/has tick all the boxes you would want in a United manager doesn’t really seem to be available right now.

Incredible if some fans want a defensive manager.

We are still trying to build a team, and would need a manager who can continue that.

What we don't need is another manager just brought in to win things. That would be more short term nonsense.

Not quite what I said. I meant the next manager would need to continue the rebuild.

So how much time do we give Ole? Give him too long and this season could be another write-off.

I think he deserves this season anyway unless it gets Jose 3rd season levels of bad.

It’s been a season like no other where we have had no pre-season. No need for knee jerks.

You do need to look at the short term while building a team as well, though. Ideally you’d like a good balance, but that seems unlikely with the people we have running the club, as we’ve been incapable of finding that balance. People bang on about the short-term approach from the club being the problem, but that’s not really been the case. The failure to fully commit to a short term approach as been one of the bigger problems.

The season pretty much starts this weekend for Ole. The team needs to start playing like it's actually being coached.
