I wonder if Pochetino would take the Chelsea job. I think he would which would be disappointing.

The players we have would strongly tempt him, it's like the fully backed project he never got from Levy - so much fluidity, versatility & youth.

Fortunately for you I don't think it'll be an issue, United will get there first.

Allardyce’s time to shine

You can only judge us when we actually have our first team playing, also was going to take some time for our players to gel with all these new signings. Some of Lampard's tactics and team formation are bizarre though.

Allegri’s your man, Wahl. He’s a more pleasant, tactically aware man.

You can add Messi to this side and we'll still not win anything under Lampard. He doesn't have a clue about defending and is tactically inept.

So when can I judge Lampard? I couldn't judge him last season because it was his first season and transfer ban and blah blah blah. I can't judge him now because new players and blah blah blah. We've been average for over a year now and terrible defensively throughout that period. We wouldn't accept this under another manager. Andre Villas Boas was ruthlessly fired for performing to a much higher level than Lampard has. Same with Roberto Di Matteo who won a furrrking Champions League for us. Sarri was heavily criticised and rightly so to an extent, but my God man, he was so much better than lampard it's unreal.

I don't understand why Chelsea fans want to accept this. Any other person who isn't Frank lampard and the Chelsea fans criticise him. Who cares that he's a former player? Seriously, who cares. Judge him on his perfomance as manager which is not good enough. This level has never been good enough in the past and it shouldn't be now.

I just want him gone. I'm tired of this. This squad has so much potential and sheer talent and it's being wasted by this useless manager who needs to learn how to become a manager first before he tries to manage even a midtable premier league team let alone a team like Chelsea. I just want him furrrking gone and I want a proper manager like Pockets, or Allegri or Nagelsmann or Tuchel or Ancelotti or just anyone who knows what they're doing as a manager. I would take Villas Boas or Benitez back at the club before Lampard.

Couldnt agree with you more. The reason behind our suscees is been ruthless when need it wi5h highest expectation for every manager who comes to Chelsea, we shouldn't lower our expectation because Lampard got a job!!!

posted on 17/10/20

AVB was a young manager, 33 years old and he got 5-6 months before he was fired and the team was nowhere near this bad under him.

Di Matteo won us a Champions league title. Got 3-4 months at the start of next season, we weren't doing too badly, got fired.

Why is Lampard being allowed to deliver CONSISTENTLY INCONSISTENT results for over a year with CONSISTENT TERRIBLE DEFENSIVE perfomances? Chelsea used to be reknowned across Europe, let alone the premier league for having an elite defence. Now our defence is a joke.

I disagree with that reasoning. Defeats the point of going for an inexperienced manager in the first place, and was the predominant reason why Lampard wasn't my first choice.

You don't hire a kid straight out of college, then fire him because he didn't meet the standards of a multi-year pro. It makes you look stupid, not the kid.

You don't hire a kid straight out of college for a job that requires a high level of experience and skill. A kid out of college knows they have to work hard for at least couple of decades to gain that experience before they'll even have a chance at such a job. Before they'll even be considered and not just have their application be laughed away.

I agree completely, but what's done is done, we have to give him a chance.

If there was nothing about Lampard then fair play, own the mistake & make the change (kind of like AVB), but there's plenty of plus points to Lampard alongside the negatives.

posted on 17/10/20

There was much more about AVB than Lampard. The guy won a treble for Porto the year before coming to Chelsea. Things went wrong for him because of player power but there was much much more about him than Lampard has. I don't even know what there is about Lampard that you're referring to. Name one good quality he has a manager.

If Sarri had these performances the media would have hounded him out. But as its Frank its ok and they let it be.

How long does that chance last for? Especially when Pochettino and Allegri are sitting there waiting. Lampard’s in a similar position to Ole. Got the job due to lack of options and a new approach at the club has been taken. But they’re not good enough to be managing clubs of this stature, and now better options are available a decision needs to be made.

- Brought through & believed in a stream of young players which has (a) saved us millions in the long term (b) given others in the academy belief there is a pathway where there wasn't before (c) beefed up our squad depth considerably.

- Unlike AVB has frozen plenty of players out, but unlike AVB has managed to get responses out of them, e.g. Giroud, Pulisic, Zouma, etc... goes in tandem with the fact there's no stories about any unrest in the camp.

- Roman believes in him & so have high profile signings like Havertz, Werner, etc... it takes a lot of people to make deals like that happen. If players like Havertz, who'd of had the world at his feet in 12 months, comes to Chelsea in 2020 you can be sure Lampard had a positive hand in it.

- The media like him. There's very few negative stories about us in general atm which helps the players stay on point (easy reason to dismiss, but more important than people think).

- For all the defensive & set piece issues, some of the attacking play last season was fantastic, and despite not clicking into gear yet we've still score 13 goals in 5 matches. Come early next year we'll be wrecking teams once the fluidity's there.

There's a few more. Those are just the obvious ones

To be blunt, If Lampard was going to be our Pep, we would know by now. The fact that he shows no signs of it after over a year I think is evidence enough it's not going to happen.

Anyone who wanted him in under the pretense he might be our Pep were delusional. Said it then (repeatedly), saying it now.
