That was absolutely pathetic

The biggest disappointment has been Willian. I reckon Arteta thought he will add greatly to the creative hub of the team but, so far, he has been dog shiitte

The reactionary nature of some football fans never ceases to amaze me. We lose 1-0 away at Man City and put in an okay performance and people lose their minds. Jesus Christ.

What are you on about? How was that an ok performance? We didn’t create a single chance in the 2nd half. What is ok about that?

Chelsea feed us their scraps. Time to end this nonsense.

We got trashed by City in similar situation last season

I actually disagree with this article. The performance is the template of how we should play away at the big teams. Trying to outplay the opposition is reason we haven't won for 6 years away

The issue today is that City are awful atm Arteta basically gave them too much respect and should have adapted earlier. Ref really broke our rhythm today and nothing went our way. No pen given, last min of game should have been corner where we could load up box. Laca killed us in the ascendcy also giving key easy passes away.

Same Mancity that was pummelled 5-2 by Leicester and lucky to get a point at Leeds.
They were there for the taking today. We played cowardly.

Fack me yeah let's look at the "positives",again.

5 years and 29 games.

We have fallen so far as a club that people think a 1-0 defeat without a single attempt in the 2nd half is a positive just because we weren’t battered.

It’s hard to get battered when you park the bus when trailing. City didn’t need to take any risks, we needed to, and we were too scared to.

For me this is the most frustrating performance under Arteta. They were there for the taking and we were too scared to have a go.

The problem is we can't pass quickly; we don't have anyone who can hold onto the ball in midfield and there is a lack of urgency - we pass backwards so much

Partey was never enough. MF needed a complete revamp

Sorry don't agree at all. We competed in the game from minute 1 to the end. We had the chances in the first half which weren't taken. Should of had a penalty as well. I think people need to get real if they think we are going to go toe with the likes of City we did that under Wenger and it always ended badly. We simply don't have the players to do that we have to find another way to compete which Arteta is doing. Just think back to how bad we were under Emery. Arteta is moving us in the right direction.

You have to accept we have fallen as a club since Wenger left and this is a relatively good result for us

That being said I agree with this being most frustrating result under Arteta. This game was a learning curve for him, first time he showed lack of experience if you ask me

Where's personality on pitch? Need our captain to gee everyone up

Was very disappointing the lack of urgency we had in attack in the 2nd half. Our best chances came down the left in the 1st, and Saka and Tierney looked good. Why did we not carry on probing down there after the break?

Leno saved us a couple of times, but he was at fault for the goal. He's got to push that ball away, and not just parry it back into the middle of the box again.

Before the season started I probably would've accepted a 1-0 at their ground, but I really think they were there for the taking today.

Bring on 4231 - this 343 is far too restrictive in our forward play.

Partey obviously isn’t enough to get us back to where we want to be but this game hardly proves that seeing as he only played 5 facking minutes

Arteta’s subs wound me up so much. Waited until the 85th minute and didn’t even take off one of our CBs

WTF?!?!?!?!

Yeah big overreaction. It was a pretty even game, and we competed well. But it’s clear we’re missing that extra bit of quality in attacking areas to Nick these tight games. We had decent chances, and could have had a pen so a 1-1 wouldn’t have been unfair to anyone.

My disappointment was we couldn’t break out of our more defensive structure especially late on, I think we were a bit too cautious we needed to ask City more questions late on

But it’s clear we are far off Man City levels still, so losing to Liverpool and city isn’t the end of the world for us now. But we really have to be looking to beat Leicester and Man U next if we want to be serious about top 4

Hardly pathetic, we looked a solid unit and limited city at home. Where we didn’t get enough was from our front free. I didn’t want Willian, he was decent against Fulham but since then has be virtually annoymous in every game. Pepe is weak and passive, have a little sympathy for Aubameyang as he should be in the middle, no idea what Mikel is thinking there. City’s defence have been so shaky recently but we have them a day off second half. Saka our best player by far tonight.
