They never learn. In January the hysteria was immense after winning the OF game. Same as season before. Same as cup semi about 5 years ago.

Long way to go

There was plenty of hysteria on the Celtic board in January too

And how did that work out then? 😄

History is written by the victors.

Rangers played us very well yesterday. Have managed to read most of the comments, and I don’t think they necessarily had a couple more gears to go through, not without compromising the discipline they played with.

Time will tell how big a win yesterday was, but we have to respond quickly. We need to get our players fit, get a settled team and a settled way of playing. This is shaping up to be the closest we’ve had to a title race for a long time, and we need to get up to speed now.

You got a early title.😀

i think we need to be honest and say we have started the season poorly and rangers have started better.

They wanted it more yesterday, they were disciplined and while their goals we f...ing horrendous thats out problem and their gain, and it is our problem btw.

things can change of course, but we are the ones that need the boot up the baws, not them.

I kinda agree regarding going up gears, whatever that means. we scored early in each half and then managed the game effectively to the whistle. Competent and effective would be my summation.

Hmmm, its been closer the last 2 years. Lenny is getting to play a joker from fans this time due to the covid contingent. However, and i mentioned it before, the malaise evident 90% of the season is very worrying. As others have alluded it is almost as though there is something else in play?

Going back to the appointment and the 60% (my estimate from tim ja posters only) that didn’t want him - variety of reasons but i reckon the reason for many of the 40% was relief more than anything - irrationally?

He had limited options off the bench yesterday but made no change to the system either? Worrying was the the arms folded to go with the snuss and nobody within yards of him. I think we were beaten before we started? That he was maybe happy to feel victimised and that rubbed off on the squad? I hope it’s not the black dog.

We knew he was a ‘motivational’ manager and not inspirational. One dimensional, like the team. While a clearvway of playing would be nice we actually need 3 or 4 options. What are the players thinking? Is the malaise stemming from the top? Are they waiting on direction, instruction, inspiration?

Watching the villa game. Maddison earmarked as a 2H sub. Brendan calls him down from row 20 on 16mins and spends a full 2mins talking him through what is happening on the pitch and how he can exploit it. Goes back to his seat with a fck me look on his face but clearly a food for thought intervention.

54mins he gets called down again. He’s given an update direct from BR. No 200 page powerpoint from one of the coaches. 66mins he eventually gets on. Unfortunate maybe that the example is BR but it is the expectation of a top manager.

Lenny has given up the overt snarling and water bottle kicking. He’s a smart guy and knows his football. I hope he’s not given up under the ten pressure?

I am not really seeing anyone on here, getting carried away or making too many bold predictions after yesterday.

It was a comfortable if not spectacular performance by Rangers and in the end all it amounted to was a relatively straightforward three points.

It will mean not a jot if we go out and drop points to Livvy or whoever in the coming weeks👍

It's interesting that Dermott thought it was worthwhile paying more than Man Utd for a top manager to stop Rangers winning the ten but is quite happy to let an utter jakeball try to win the ten for us.

Has Dermott lost interest in his plaything?

i just don't see any tacticl nous about him at all mate.

the kind of manager that complains players need match sharpness but only gives them 6 minutes as a sub every 3 weeks.

I don’t think we have one at the moment.
He puts eleven players on the park and hopes that because they are - on paper - good players that something will somehow happen. And that works until it doesn’t, as we saw yesterday.
His decision-making is erratic at best and he looks like shiiit. It’s all a bit worrying, really.

To be honest, the signs were there against Cluj last year.

A couple of good players have saved him. We wont get rid of him so we have to hope he can turn it around.

If he loses against Milan and doesnt win the cup he will be under massive pressure and i dont think that will end well.

Also be interesting to see how Gerrard copes if he becomes the clear favourite.

I don't think we will win the league with Barkas in goal. He gives me the fear.

i'm not seeing anything to suggest he is better than bain thus far, thats not to say he isn't.

forster was it for me, he was key to ten. if he didnt want to come then we can't do much about that but i really believe he would have made it more possible.

pointy is right imo, he puts out a team but i don't think he knows how to tweak tactics or setup to suit a players skillset.

You're like an albatross to your team.

Every time you start flapping your gums on here some other calamity strikes them

The next 10 games are huge for Lennon.

Whatever people think of the board, he will be sacked if we don’t stay within 4/5 points in the league by Xmas, too much at stake to go into next year with everyone calling for the managers head.

Btw, Edouard was down my way last night mate meant him in Asda and Eddy didn’t have a £ for the trolley so my mate gave him his and Edouard gave him a signed top out his car

Certainly sounds like there’s a bit of a malaise at Celtic at the mo.

I’ve not seen much but read plenty on here and seen the last minute goals that have scraped a couple of results, but all it needs is one wee incident or goal that can change everything and the tails will be up again.

Sounds like individual quality rather than teamwork and tactics have got you to this stage and that must be a concern.

I’m certainly not getting carried away and I’m not seeing any evidence of it. And certainly no ‘bravado’, though I’m sure it’ll be trotted out at the first show of confidence from Rangers fans.

Oh well.

What in fack he doing down your way when he lives up here and can go to an Asda that doesn't have trolley theft issues?
