Well I am gnashing my teeth

I thought that if Rooney tests negative, he's in the clear??

If he is deemed to have been a close contact, i.e. within 2 metres of the person testing positive for at least 15 minutes, then government advice would be to self-isolate for 14 days regardless. A negative test for Rooney at this stage would not necessarily mean that he is not currently incubating the virus.

He should closely mingle with the team, thus getting all future fixtures postponed until the next transfer window.

Or at least until it snows

Rooney's test is negative but he says he now needs to self-isolate. Will miss the next three games. Since he is negative there won't be a need for anyone else at the club to self-isolate.

JHI in, Stretton on the bench ?

How have we allowed ourselves to end up in this position?

Most of the other Championship teams have made some very good signings, including strikers, and are significantly stronger on paper than they were at the start of the season.

Are we being snubbed by other clubs? Are purse strings that tight compared to other clubs? Are our contacts that bad?

Rooney was never going to play every minute of every match, and I don't think our injury list is unreasonable, it's about what you'd expect.

9gear. We have made some good signings in fact I would say we’ve had the best window in ages. We never got the striker we were after but let’s not forget whatever Cocu has seen from Kazim-Richards in training has impressed him enough to let Marriott go out on loan.
It’s frustrating waiting for everyone to get fit but we will be a handful for anyone in this league in my opinion.

The money spent on Jozwiak and the (presumably) significant wages on Ibe would suggest that we aren't in a terrible financial position. I imagine though that only limited funds are available dependent on outgoings and that Jozwiak was largely funded by Bogle and Lowe leaving.

I thought the one position that needed strengthening was centre forward. I don't particularly mind Marriott leaving because he has been almost entirely ineffective in the way we play and I don't mind a player like Kazim-Richards as a fourth or fifth choice player but we have a yawning gap where a first choice should be. Rooney is a part-time fill-in at number nine these days and Waghorn is injured, and a bit so-so even when fit. Then we have a very raw kid in JHI.

Cocu clearly thought we were going to get somebody in, that was clear in interviews. Whether it was the Turk who was not allowed to leave or somebody else I don't know, but we are going to be struggling unless one of the above surprises me and makes the position his own.

Rearrange the above words to make a plausible sentence
