I do have an Oculus Go VR headset. Don’t have any of the horror games but do have an actiony zombie one called Drop Dead and that is amazing.
I think we are starting to see a new era of horror with the likes of Ari Aster, Jordan Peele etc. Nothing is completely new, but their films feel very fresh to me.

Not really anything new from any genre if we're honest. Harder to be original these days.

Yes it is.
In cinema with advancements in SFX there is scope to make tried and tested gags better and more scary.
I saw Poltergeist recently for the first time in years. It was (almost) funny.
BGT final this year had about 4 magicians.

I love Poltergeist. Great nostalgic 80's film. Has some nice creepy moments too. Very underrated for a Spielberg film.
Many wont believe it, but when the original Jaws movie first came out people queue up around the houses to watch it and many came out of theatres crapping themselves.

If you have any side cash, i really can't recommend the Quest 2 highly enough.
It's worth every penny just to watch films in Imax style cinemas, let alone some of the experiences and games. The tech is now at the point where it's becoming interesting. I'm blown away that I can get this quality for $300 when a few years ago I had half the experience for $3k with Oculus rift and a solid PC.

I may well get that next as my Go battery is near dead from usage. Getting a new drone too soon so would be good to watch that footage on a machine that does better than 720p
Jaws is scary - when I was 5 I went on the Jaws ride at Universal studios in LA and literally shiiiit myself when the shark came out of the water.

That's pretty grim, even for an aussie
Jaws is a classic, the sequels are trash. The 4th one must have one of the worst plots of any movie.
I went on Jaws at Universal in Orlando. I'm convinced that that shark model was the same one they used in the original film!
A recent film I really liked was VVitch. The set-up where you get a powerful sense of the superstitious religious fundamentalism is great, and makes the diabolical stuff all the more vivid when it starts to emerge.
Another recent one that stands out is Get Out! I was a little disappointed with it overall but they carried off the central conceit - making preppy white people the terrifying 'Other' - really well.

Michael Caine has gone on record and said he only did it as the money allowed him to build an amazing house. Fair enough!
Speaking of Horror... Wan Bissaka has had a nightmare.
His Mrs has calling him out on Instagram, not only for cheating on her, not only cheating on her and knocking up his side piece, but cheating on her, knocking up his side piece and then doing the dirty on both of them with Lingard's ex.

wonder if he has a Shark model in the middle of the swimming pool
I don't think it's a great movie, and it's not really a horror either, but the scene in Signs where Joaquin Phoenix's character sees the alien on TV in the Brazilian backstreets really crept me out the first time I saw it.

Yes, I think the quote from Caine is "I haven't seen the film, but I've seen the house that it paid for". Something like that.

Has the Wicker Man come up?
The Tell Tale Heart, Circus of horrors(the scene where a man reciieves a gift of binoculars, adjusts them, screams and pulls them away with his eyeballs impaled on spikes protruding from the eyepieces. Finally, The original monochrome version of Quatermass.. Scared me to death as a youth.
