Its done really well in La Liga. Nowhere near as much confusion or delay to a decision.
I know it's an awful lot better in the champions league. But I imagine that's down to the officials being a much higher standard.
In Serie A it can b slow but they usually make the correct decision in the end.
Really don't recall the constant controversy here every week in Germany. From what I've seen (admittedly not too much!) the ref jogs over, has a look at the replays on the monitor to make his own mind up, then gives the decision.
There was an incident in the Leeds Wolves game last night that VAR here would have called back!..

----------------------------------------------------------------------
And there, in a nutshell, is the problem over here. The monitor is probably looked at no more than 3/4 times a season, when it should be used in every close or difficult decision. So probably 2/3 times in every game.
Trouble is the FA have taken away from the referees the ability to decide for themselves. The fact that none of them ever go to the monitor must be a directive, even if nobody from the FA want's to admit it.
The other main irritation is the glaring inconsistency. We see the same thing being given in one game, but then ignored in the next.
For me, four things should make up VAR.
1. Was it deliberate handball ( in this I mean did the player deliberately move his hand or arm to the ball to gain an advantage. Not you kick it at him, he cant get out of the way and it hits his arm cr*p.
2. Was it reasonably offside. By that I don't mean a millimetre or an armpit, but a clear was he in front of him situation.
3. Was it a booking or a red card incident. That one is really obvious..
4. For any unusual or difficult things, VAR recommend and the ref ( with the assistance of the monitor ) makes the decision.
Finally, for all of these the Ref MUST use the monitor, and be seen to be doing it for all close calls during the game.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is all that has been required from day one, the ref being able to have a 2nd look if needed. The whole shambles of his mate looking at it, sat somewhere else, and doing everything possible to back up the original decision so the onfield ref doesn't look bad is utter nonsense.

How hard can it be though...even if they issued out a flow chart for them to follow
The Pickford foul on VVD was a particular fack up of late
Apparently the official on this one said once the offside was decided, their job was done....basic flow chart showing the next action would have sorted this

These mugs on the pitch and in the VAR studio need replacing with officials from abroad and other leagues.
This should eliminate most of the problems with referees not wanting to make their colleagues look stupid etc, it should also eliminate some of the clear bias and agendas shown towards certain clubs.
See the soft penalty VAR were all over when Rashford fell over at Newcastle and then VAR not even looking at Bale being deliberately knocked off balance when about to score v WHU for all the evidence you need.

Foreigners reffing our games?!?! Well, I never! What next? Pump the NHS full of foreign nurses?
The league is full of foreigners, only the refs are British, the last bastion, and its clear, judging from Forza's comment, that there is a secret plan to take reffing jobs away from local British people and give them to immigrants and joy-riders.
