Didn't look good when I saw it but forgot. We do seem light on cover in midfield. Squad getting tested at quite an early stage in the season.
Llorente operates well in that position but also injured.

Hasn't played well all season. This lay off well give another player a chance to get in there and add pressure, although why we didnt sign a midfielder is astonishing
If Cooper fit then Pascal S can play there. If not we have Klich or even Dallas at a pinch. Plenty of midfielders but not a specialist game breaker like Phillips. Maybe Forshaw when he’s fit?

Struijk was excellent there at the end of last season
He was indeed excellent but he also looked to pick up an injury. Given the injuries to Cooper, Llorente and now Phillips)who was playing centre back in last part of match) that leaves Ayling coming in at centre back or one of the kids such as Cresswell or Casey.
Hopefully Struijk fit .if not it's a significant reshuffle or one of lads above.
Should have gotten rid of Forshaw and signed a back up CM, we did that to Douglas.
So Shaun, we get rid of Forshaw who got injured playing from us and maybe has a future if we can get him fit enough but keep Berardi who has no future with us.
Who would have taken Forshaw, who has been out injured for almost a year now? Getting rid isn't as easy as just saying it.
We have Davis to play at CB, too, and Koch can also be pushed up to CDM, similar to White last season. Unfortunate timing, but we do have the players to cope.
Stage is set for emergency recall for Eunan O’Kane.
I think lending Douglas to Blackburn may come back to haunt us. We are exposed on the left flank. Losing Phillips will make that situation worse.
Play Bamford there. He can rough-house enough to upset Grealish.

I don't think we can afford to lose key players this season, tiny mistakes get punished at this level. Phillips, Cooper & LLorente out at this stage is too much. Not good.
its a blow because we are light in that area but if I'm honest he wont be much of a miss as of right now.
He's been a passenger most weeks and probably our worst player so far. If fit Strujik will play, and he looked good there last season.
I rate Struijk.
A Klich injury would be a bigger loss at this moment

Might be a daft thing to say but not a bad thing he’s out - just think he needs a break - especially playing for England too. Hopefully will comeback to the KP we all know and love
Wouldn't normally be too worried, as in theory we have capable cover in that position with Struijk, Llorente and Forshaw ...but with Llorente and Forshaw also injured and Pascal having come off against Wolves with a knock...I'm a bit concerned! Pretty unlucky!
I don't doubt KP will get back to the levels we've seen once up to speed with the PL, but right now I don't see it as a disaster for us.
The only issue is we don't have much cover in midfield at all
