If a player like Xhaka can play for Arsenal why can't Ozil get a game?
Interesting theory. Given what happened with the NBA I wouldnt be surprised
it's a combination of football and off field reasons. If he was at his peak playing well every week then he'd be in the squad even with all the off field stuff, but he's not so it gets to a point where he's just not worth the hassle. All the negatives that he brings outweights whatever he can do on the pitch (not much). I don't buy the BS about how he much he loves the club, everything him and his agent have come out with for the last two years has been to enable him to see out his contract with as much sympathy and as little criticism as possible.

Xhaka who I’ve never rated since day one has played better than anything I’ve seen from Ozil since he signed that contract. It’s not even up for debate really.
Ozil’s performances since signing that contract were diabolical. In fact Ozil has only really ever met expectations in 2015 (2nd half of the season Chelsea won the title with Mourinho and there was no pressure on us, and 1st half of the season Leicester won the league when he went into hiding when pressure built).
He said in his post he was playing at a high level before lockdown - he wasn’t. He was woeful. 1 goal and 1 assist in 10 games. The goal coming in the last minute of a 4-0 win over Newcastle. We only won 3 of those 10 games and he was hauled off in the majority of them. I’m delighted that he’s been banished tbh. But if it’s because we don’t want to upset the Chinese, as opposed to the fact he has been terrible and doesn’t deserve to be in the 25 man squad then morally the club is wrong. It’s also kind of convenient how Ozil never mentioned in his post that he was the only man in the 25 man squad who refused to take a pay cut, despite being the highest earner.

I was the first to call out Ozil and him being a luxury player. However, we also had players like Santi and Sanchez at the club back then.
Now we have an absolute poverty of a MF that cant create or score goals and fans are trying to convince themselves that Ozil can't get into the team over the likes of Elneny and Willock
