If people think the only reason Ozil hasn't played a minute of football since March and has been completely frozen out of the arsenal squad is bad form, then fine. Didn't think there would be this much naivety on the matter, I understand that all Arsenal fans want to hear is 'Ozil is rubbish' etc.
Difference of opinions
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't think anyone has said that.
But to blame it on the China incident when he started all but 1 league game from then until the lockdown break suggests it isn't because of that.
It is probably one of the straws, but defintiely not the final one.

Understood, like I said already don't think it became that much of an issue until revenue was being lost due to lockdown and the money was needed. This is of course, me just doing some research. Not necessarily suggesting this is what happened exactly, but it would answer for a lot.
And I can't imagine poor form can result in one of your best players being completely frozen out of the squad. Like I said, there's obviously a lot more to it then just high wages and crap form.

For me, I think it is Arteta's choice to drop him, without any input from the board.
He gave him 10 games to prove himself and, from memory, he played very well against utd - that's it really. He had a crazy amount (for him) of yards covered, tackles, interceptions, along with his usual good passing stats. He proved he can put in performances like that, but then failed to do so in the rest of the games. Arteta then moved to 3 at the back every game and there's no room for Ozil in the team if he isn't going to work hard.
The refusal, and reaction to being asked, to take a wage cut was his final nail.

Are you feckin kiddin' me yet another fanboy posting an article crying about Ozil and pretending the waste of space did not DESERVE TO BE DROPPED and frozen out. Based purely on YEARS of little to no contribution from him. A ps poor attitude from him. ZERO commitment to winning/competing from him.
You don't even need to bring China, muslims or pay cauts into it. People can debate about the first few years but the is ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT that Mesut Ozil's poor performances and more importantly his utter apathy toward competing and contempt for the careers of his teammates. Are MORE THAN justification enough to freeze the out.

Then all of his worshippers will be demanding he start and create a sh!tstorm every time we lose a game, and the Ozil sideshow derails yet another season. Emery buckled under the pressure and brought him back only for him to flop yet again. Arteta wouldn't give in to the fan pressure imo but at least now he doesn't have to answer questions about Ozil after every game. That's why Ozil is different to other players like Elneny because of all the negativity and baggage that he brings.
Exactly, can't believe they are so naive. Like Ozil or not, you can't say he isn't good enough to be in squad, not first XI, SQUAD! Cheers mate finally someone smart here.

And again with the "Good enough" crap. This has NOTHING to do with his level of talent. It's his level of EFFORT AND COMMITMENT that is the issue.
If he was actually willing to get on the pitch and bust his ass fighting, giving 100% effort and not refuse to press the ball and tackle JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE ON THE TEAM. The he'd be the first name on the team sheet along with Auba.
He isn't though is he? He wants to play and not do this, not do that and only make an effort when HE feels like making some new youtube highlights to keep his SM profile high. Nobody's saying he isn't good enough. It's just that unlike his fanboy following, everyone else and their dog KNOWS HE DOESN'T CARE ENOUGH! And when that is the case then he could be feckin Messi and he'd STILL be of no use. Because you CAN'T perform at even half your best when you truly just don't give a sh!t whether you win or lose.

"Ozil speaking up against the Chinese government and their treatment of Uighur muslims, the Chinese government pretty much blackmailing anyone who stands with Ozil to take away any tv money. Would've thought maybe there is a moral obligation for Arsenal to show some unity with one of their best players?"
------------------------------------------
It's an open secret that Ozil is paying the price for his public stance on Chinese treatment of the Uighurs, which has been condemned worldwide. But the issue is not as simple as Ozil portrays it:
1. The PL has a lucrative broadcasting deal with a Chinese broadcaster. After his comments, the Chinese govt stopped the screening of the Arsenal-Man City match in December, costing the clubs and the PL revenue. China has also threatened to block any further broadcasts of any matches in which Ozil is playing.
2. Ozil's stance of championing the cause of the Uighurs is extremely hypocritical. Back in his own homeland the Turkish regime to which he is so bonded is daily committing war crimes, atrocities and gross human rights violations in Kurdistan. Why is he so silent on the plight of Kurds, who are also Muslims? Why is he not condemning Turkey?
3. Several clubs around the world are interested in signing Ozil. Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia offered Arsenal £5m and Ozil $500k pw but he adamantly rejected the offer. Reports also say Beckham's Inter Miami are one of several American clubs who want to sign him, as well as some Turkish clubs, but he doesn't want to go.
4. Ozil is not the only Muslim player in Europe, there are thousands of them, and most of them likely support the Uighurs. But why is he the only player campaigning for the Uighurs? Why are other Muslim players like Mane and Pogba not joining his campaign? It's simply because they realise the wider implications on their careers and their clubs, even their own clubs won't support them. It's therefore unfair for him to expect Arsenal to openly support his stance when no other player or club will. I wd agree with a league-based campaign supported by the rest of the clubs just like the BLM campaign.
5. Arsenal are a business first and foremost, just like every other club, they are not a human rights organisation, and naturally they want to protect their business interests above everything else. That's where Ozil's huge salary comes from.
Ozil playing to the gallery will not help his cause, and the sooner he joins another club the better for his career and image.

Finally said what I wanted to hear, shame Arsenal won't stand by Ozil, whether you like him or not. He's talking up about something that is probably bigger than football. While we're all caught up in the BLM movement, Ozil has quietly talking up his support for his fellow Muslims.
Just wanted a bit more of an acknowledgement, so thanks for that
One question, GC:
1 - They showed at least 10 games Ozil started in after this incident last November.
It was only when lockdown happened did Ozil get sent to Coventry (unfortunately not literally).

I am aware they screened more matches after that incident, most likely the various interested parties were working out how to deal with the issue. But they won't screen Ozil anymore, and if he features the match will definitely be pulled.
