I find running on a treadmill just so draining, feels like it takes so much longer to get the same distance and time just stands still
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, need the scenery, or get into that zone where you are only a tiny bit paying attention and are thinking about other stuff- running zen I like to think of it as - time flies in that mode.,
A morning run on the trails is perfect for me. I never eat before a run either, unless it's a really long one. Then I may have a banana.
I did my shoulders this morning and a 15 min row
Will do my run before dinner tonight
we could do with an ongoing thread for this sort of thing.
I'm typically doing some form of exercise running/weights 6 times a week at the mo.
Gym on Monday, Tuesday, Friday.
Football training (road running) Wednesday and Thursday. Completed 17k in these 2 nights.
90 minutes on both Saturday and Sunday.
That's basically my week at the moment...

Most commented article on the weightlifting forum, it's not really been active for a long while though.
I really wish I was a morning person, I workout in a morning at weekends but at like 11am ish, and always feel better than going to the gym in the evening.
I have to be up at 6:30 for work, to leave for 7:15ish, if I got to the gym for 6 I could shower there after and still get to work for the same time but I just can't bear getting up any earlier.
Morning gym people make me jealous as they finish work and have the whole evening to do as they please then, or relax and do nothing.
Agree I can’t do mornings the body is too stiff takes a least a few hours to wake up.
Going gym at 4 though gonna do 45 mins on the treadmill
The earliest I've been out for a run is 2.45. Used to go out at a similar time for quite a few weeks. Weird running so early that people are walking home from a club/party or whatever.
2:45 isn't early, it's late, that's still night time you fckin mad man.
I'm there 6am most mornings mon-fri and 8am on a Saturday as that is when it opens.
I love the early mornings, no wait for bench's/machines and I can be out of there in 45-50 mins. I always do my weight workouts early and my run later in the day typically just before dinner.
Sunday is typically my rest day as I consume a few beverages on a Saturday night
I envy you
As I say, I COULD go to the gym early but I just can't get up earlier than I do now. 8 years I've worked here and had this start time but haven't got used to my alarm going off at 6:25 still
You go for a run on your lunch break, or work from home or something?

wfh and my gym is 5 mins away with good parking so I try and go twice a day during the week however is normally 3 out of 5 days I do this.
My kid finishes school at 6.45pm (military school) 3 nights a week so I normally time it around that.
I'm normally surrounded by fit ladies for my run in the late afternoon/early evening so its all good

Yup, it actually helps! As barefoot says, chesty probably not a great idea.
Helps a lot of the time I find with a lot of stuff. Hangovers, especially
