If there is a 3 month break in the season come Feb/March this time round then Leeds could very well push for top 4 or the title even
----------------------------------------------------------------------
that makes sense what so ever
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To break it down for you, Leeds train and play at a very high intensity like a lot of Bielsa sides. When we look at what this has meant for Bielsa sides in the past we see teams that start seasons on fire before burning out with exhaustion in the second half of the year.
However, this did not happen last year - has Bielsa got a team of super men? Has he learnt a new technique? I hear you cry. Perhaps it was because there was a strange anomaly last season, what could this look like? A 3 month break perhaps to recharge the batteries of an ailing side - bingo.
Now this year Leeds have started fast again - and what my theory suggests is if Leeds are in the top 3 or 4 around Feb and then there is a 3 month break - rather than suffering Bielsa burnout, they will have the chance to replenish their energy levels and storm to the title after the 3 month hiatus.
If you need a picture to help then let me know and I will break out the crayons.

Just a point on the >March malaise and the 3 month break. In the lead up the lockdown and that break we had won 5 successive matches. It really didn't look like a team on the verge of some kind of burnout/fatigue crisis.

1961, and we will still be waiting at the end of this season too.
My comments are not based on tribalism and I certainly have nothing against Leeds - we’ve played you once in the cup in the last 16 years and there is no real history or bitterness amongst the two teams.
I wouldn’t be surprised if you beat us at home as we still haven’t won a home league game yet, and if crowds are back then the away game will be very difficult - although the burnout will be in full effect by then.
My whole point is a leopard never changes its spots and Bielsa sides always burnout in the second half of a continuous season like all his previous sides can attest to. Not sure why this is so contentious when facts support it?

Sure which is why I wasn’t going to bring it up, maybe last year was the year when he broke a habit of a lifetime - however we will never know so it’s best to take it out altogether. That leaves us with the overwhelming evidence of team burnout.

Has made a solid start over a whole 5 game old season, and not beaten any team of significance yet.
Yeah, they play watchable footie, but for me, come back with the hype when he has achieved as much as Bill Nic, Shankly, Ferguson, Busby etc.

Bielsa burnout is even the name of a theory, everywhere he goes his teams burnout due to the intensity of the training. Players can’t run by the end of the season and results tail off.
His first year at Leeds, they lost 13 games that season, 10 in the second half of the season. Come Feb they will fade fast and I would ecstatic if someone could bookmark that.

Well done for missing the point. It’s not that Leeds gained an advantage as all teams had the break. My argument is that Bielsa teams burn out in the second part of a season (when it is continuous) and therefore saying it didn’t happen last season is meaningless as they had a 3 month break right around the time history suggests the burnout will begin. Should the season not break this year then Leeds will suffer the Bielsa burnout from about late Feb.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
you are trying to tell leeds fans about their team ffs lad, you have no idea what you are saying

I personally don't get the hype.
He got one of the better teams in the Championship promoted. So what, plenty of others have done that. Does that make them "god's" too ?
He sits on a box ( what's that all about ) and gets more camera coverage during a game than the players actually playing. Weird.
Has made a solid start over a whole 5 game old season, and not beaten any team of significance yet.
Yeah, they play watchable footie, but for me, come back with the hype when he has achieved as much as Bill Nic, Shankly, Ferguson, Busby etc.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
fella there is no hype from us, we have been in the doldrums for 16 years, the last 2 have been nothing but an elation, we are playing some great football and we are all enjoying the ride, bielsa has polished a t3rd and it feels great. every single leeds fan will be happy to finish 16th. but until then wait till we play you

----------------------------------------------------------------------
You conveniently forgot last season when we won 12 drew 2 and lost 1 of our final 15 games.
Understandable that some of our supporters are getting carried away after all the downs and trauma in the last 15 years and most of us would be happy with 10th place. Will surprise a few along the way though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn’t forget it, it just doesn’t support either argument. There was a 3 month break from Match, meaning the Leeds players had time to recover - surely you remember that. I was being sporting earlier by not pointing it out. Like I said, book mark my comments and come back to them at the end of the season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
just like every other team
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well done for missing the point.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
again rubbish, we didn't burn out in his 1st season, we are playing less games in the pl. i don't understand where this burn out thing comes from, the squad is all in with bielsas ethos lad
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You lost 10 games in the second half of that season as opposed to 3 in the first half. You basically Devon Loch’d promotion that year
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yup we bottled we did not burn out, you did not watch us, you are not a leeds fan, you are making assumptions
