It’s games like this one, on a wet Monday in Burnley, that will catch Spurs out.

Is it PPV?

Burnley are yet to win, who better to face next than Doctor Tottenham.

I think Spurs may well be breaking a few goal scoring records this season, if they keep up the current trend

Its possible but you've only scored two more than Liverpool and one more than Everton and still sit behind these teams in the table.

Not exactly an enticing game to watch, at Turf Moor too, when there's El Classico this weekend.

Can't see anything but a win. We are unbeaten away and have been scoring freely.

I worry more if results DO go for us over the weekend.
Also, if Burnley haven’t won a game then they will defo get a result out of us.

On losing streak?
Manager in trouble?
Defence shippping goals?
Striker not scored in ages?
Pressure on the board?
Fans in revolt?

Well fear no more! Welcome Tottenham Hotspur - the gift fo cure all!

Or have we REALLY changed? These are the games that are telling.
And those hoodoo games like Pool and Chelsea

I suspect it will end 1-1, with us conceding in the last 20 mins. We lack a defence that can do anything significant in the league this season - unless Rodon becomes an absolute sensation over night.

We do though have an attack that could win us a cup this year and I would happily settle for 4/5/6 (realistically where I think we will finish) plus a cup.

As for scoring records - if Kane and Son stay fit then it could definitely happen, 12 goals between them in 5 games is amazing - if only we could defend.

The most overused and nonsensical media made up phrase like wet and windy up north. Don`t you think we don`t get wet and windy days down here in London?

What about the wet windy night up north in Manchester when Spurs won 6-1?

Spurs have already played in Estonia, Bulgaria, Manchester, Southampton this season, so a trip to Burnley is hardly likely to worry them.

Table cannot really be looked at fella until a dozen games are played. Spurs will be thumping quite a few teams this season.

Spurs are not a soft touch any more Tarrico. Spurs will have far too much for Burnley.

4-3 to us at best Sandy, we look like conceding everytime a team attacks us and we seem addicted to giving away pens and free kicks around the box

Even the super knowledgeable , never get it wrong, Lawro has predicted a 2-1 Burnley win. So it's looking even better..

I’m still really frustrated we dropped points to Newcastle and West Ham after completely dominating them.

We should be right up there sitting on 12 points with confidence and momentum flying high

Burnley are just the sort of team to burst the Spurs bubble.

You seem to forget that this team is still gelling. In Poch's first season we would do the same. Score a lot and concede a lot. And then the back four clicked and found a rythm and ended two seasons in a row being top 2 best defense in the league.

In every game, when the next stage starts, team requires further tweaking and during that phase, it can be a bit frustrating for fans, because fans can see that the team is much better than the score but we need these games to learn and get better.

I see an overall improvement and I see a squad that can beat any side in this league. I mean any side.

This early stage, it's good to iron out niggly stuff, get fitness back to key players (Match fitness as opposed to being fit) and once the team knows it's rhythm, it will a damn hard side to beat.

The Newcastle game was Spursy in its truest sense - utterly robbed by a bolllox interpretation of the rules. The decision was so bad they had changed the rule 4 days later.

The West Ham game was as unprofessional as I have ever seen Spurs be. Spent the whole of the second half trying to tee up Kane for his hat trick rather than finishing them off, we should have been 5 or 6 ahead before they got their first. Jose needs to cut that Sheet out immediately.

7 wins from our first 8 would have set us up nicely, I think the dropped points have already cost us a realistic shot at the title as we will pick up little at Anfield, Etihad, SB.

What bubble, we’re not exactly riding high - if anything there is a massive downer after Sunday.

=====================

We are 5 points off Everton in 1st and 4 points off Villa second, and without disrespecting them, they are not the sides we can gauge title winning chances are blown or not?
Even then 5 points can be overhauled with 2 wins but the teams we need to gauge against are Liverpool and City, and one if ahead by TWO points and another behind us by 1 point.

So we are nestled right in there - love the notion that we have blown title chances - not saying we will win it but the fact that someone decides yeah they've blown their chances

It makes no sense for people to talk about blowing title chances when the season doesn't take shape until mid December and then sometimes longer that when the league is very tight.

I’m basing it on that we haven’t won a home game in the league yet despite only playing sides that finished no higher than ninth last year

You are on a high about throwing away a 3-0 lead with 8 minutes to go? Or because we beat the 4th best team in Austria? Or because we haven’t won a home league game yet despite playing teams that will almost certainly finish below us? Or because we are outside the top 5 despite scoring 15 goals already?
