Agree with a lot
But the sub wasn’t a masterstroke
Stevie wonder could see it
Absolutely agree about adaptability.. that’s because they’ve played together for years and have played the system for so long..
This is why in pre season games we saw players all over the shop!! I’m surprised Kiko hasn’t had a run out up top 😂
And it’s the exact point as to why making pointless signings like a sh 1t KP replacement or a new keeper.
Agree with LIW ref sub..
Agree with LIW.
However, I can't think of many instances where a manager has taken a player off so soon in a situation like this.
Most managers would have had a word and hoped the player could get to half time.
It was a good move by Bielsa to do what he did.
Even better to have the more experienced klitch be the player who held back.
Both shackleton and klitch play in a more advanced role, so having the one more experienced hold back was the right move
Oh and messlier could well be in team of the year.
He is playing magnificently

Not many managers would have done it so early though.

Thats what made it such a good move for me. I have regularly seen players booked early on but how many are subbed 20 mins in?

Exactly. Struijk looked a little upset which is a good thing. Bigger picture and all that!
I think Bielsa said that he thought he was on his last foul and he expected another yellow. With Greadish on the pitch that was probably inevitable.
villa denied a pen though by the same ref who gave Chelsea a pen when Werner went down under slight brush from Thiago.
costa on grealish was it? ref consistency summed up right there.

VAR never gave it either. Grealish just dived as normal.
I think the biggest reason for Bielsa to sub Struijk was because he'd fouled again shortly after the yellow, if he'd sneezed after that he would have walked!..
Correct what Bielsa did!..

Struijk has a huge future, as does Shack. Hope he doesn't let that upset him, it was just a required change for the benefit of the team given the early yellow and the way both he and Grealish play

Bielsa will make sure he understands I’m sure. It was just one of those times when shi it happens and you have to deal with it.
Didn't Bielsa do the same to Phillips in the first season? It was a no-brainer. I like Pascal Struijk (a Dutch werewolf in Leeds? ) and agree he has a great future, along with Meslier, Shackleton, Poveda. Kock is only 24 and is now consistently playing well. We have a lot of apparently sharp young prospects on the books which is really exciting, given where we are at this point. I've got to say that Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta are certainly doing the business...
Koch...excuse me...ahem...

Yes he did. It would be great if KP had a word with Struijk to reassure him.
Sir Kenneth posted link to the KP sending off earlier. Here it is again.
