Pogba is in the process of running his contract down and leaving the summer after next on a free. I think we should not be shaping our team around him even if it means he is on the bench. Either way we need to have him sold in Jan or at the latest next summer. We will be lucky to get back 50 million. We can not let him or his agent hold us to ransom or let him leave on a free

No problem with him playing off the left but if both Martial and Rash are available, I'd rather have one of them, mainly Rash, playing there.

Pogba's best spell as a united player has come playing as a 10. It doesn't preclude him from influencing the game from a deeper position...

Will have to agree to disagree.

I don’t think he suits playing at ten in Ole’s system at all.

Don't think him playing off the left suits Ole's system either. We have players better equipped to play in there... Plus I don't think we even have the players to play Ole's system... I'm glad he's moved away from that rigid approach recently...

I can deal with him playing off the left in Ole’s system in those games in which we’re up against a parked bus.

But in those kind of situations, it’d still make more sense to me to have him in the double pivot from where he can dictate play and will have more passing options, and have a more nimble, fleet of foot player wide left who can make the little darting diagonal runs.

In those sort of situations he can often get up alongside or sit just off Bruno if he wants and it serves in any case.

The problem with Pogba at United has always been that he’s comfortably at his best in a midfield three, ideally in a free role, and he’s very rarely been given that opportunity.

Imagine having Martial as your number nine, then playing Moyesball. Or AWB as your RB and focussing all of your attacking play wide right.

He’s just been in the wrong squad, under the wrongful managers, sadly for him.

It's maddening that we're still talking so much about the midfield, even after signing players like Pogba, Bruno and now VdB. All quality players but all pose different issues along with the players we have for the deeper roles.

Not one of our managers since Fergie has been able to build a high quality, balanced and successful midfield.

It obviously hasn't helped that we've employed four managers who all have conflicting ideals, strategies and set ups but it's still a damning indictment of how bad our squad building has been over the years.

I said recently we'll still be talking about our midfield in another 10 years time and it's no joke.

Balance is always going to be an issue when you have a revolving door of managers with nobody sat above with an ounce of a clue about sporting strategy.

The best you can hope for is to get lucky with your managerial appointments, and see some consistency at that level.

Obviously hasn’t happened with us.
