Yep. Eva doing her job after Hazard went down injured and asked the ref to bring on the physio. Like she could have stood there and refused to go on

Be grand, not much difference to the months before just won't see people in person. Hopefully it works and they use the time to better prepare the HsE.

The issue isn't making excuses. It's that he makes an excuse and then immediately afterwards goes "But I don't like making excuses"

The intention is obvious. He wants to make an excuse but not look like he's complaining. But it's such a puuussy move. Either admit "Yeah, I'm going to make excuses and I think it's valid because X,Y,Z..." Or just don't make excuses. You can't do what he does which is try and take the best points out of both approaches and avoid the negatives.

Lampard's interview yesterday:

"We carried on playing into Europe. We had an FA Cup final at the back end of last season. Then we went and played in Munich, so the lads got hardly any time off. Then we have new players. So there are excuses. And I hate excuses because it's a way out."

If you hate excuses, why have you made two different excuses there?

To be fair, Wahl, you do have a point here.

Lampard often sounds in his press appearances as if he's trying to copy Mourinho's trademark whingeing, but he doesn't have quite the same amount of nerve to pull it off. It's as if his conscience tells him straight away that it just isn't right, so he immediately tries to backpedal.

He reminds me to some extent of Gary Neville, who in his failed management stint at Valencia seemed continuously to be mimicking what he thought Fergie might have said in the same circumstances.

The big difference is that neither of the two have half the managerial ability of the men they intend to copy.

Maybe. To me it just looks like trying to have your cake and eat it. He wants to highlight potential excuses so that people judge him less harshly but he then also wants to come across as a tough winner who doesn't make excuses and focuses on the job in hand. But if he wants the latter to be true, he has to back up his words with his actions and stop constantly making excuses when he's presented with the opportunity to do so.

I think the way he interacts with the press is borderline genius. You're not wrong he does do that, but unlike someone like Mourinho, who's full on bull in a china shop, he disguises it so both his players & the media hear the right things/interpret the message how he wants them too.

Lampard has his faults for sure, communication ISN'T one of them, I'd argue it's his strongest asset.

It's not disguised, it's just no one wants to call him out on it due to his connections and the fact Lampard is well respected and well liked in football. I just annoys me so much. I wish people would call him out on it.
