Anyone think a top 6 club in England, France, Spain, Germany or Italy will be interested in OGS when he gets tinned...... me neither, back to his “true level:.... Cardif or Molde
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Haven't Molde done better without him?
-----------------

He won their first title in their 100 year history. And their second. They have won 2 more titles since then, but I think he managed half of one of those season. The dropped back down to 5th/6th after he left. When he returned he took them back up to 2nd place finishes. They won their 4th title in 2019 - perhaps on the back of what Ole had built/rebuilt.

This subject came up the other day on Talksport - someone on there suggested Rodgers instead of Poch. I do like Rodgers, he is a good coach. And he does the fact that he has won trophies over Poch. And he's good for the odd crazy quote.

As has been said by others, what Hassenhuttl is doing at Southampton is impressive.

I'd be happy enough with any of those 3 should Ole leave.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I don’t think the trophy thing is that relevant. Anyone can win trophies at Celtic. If Poch stayed there 10 years he’d probably pick up 15 trophies and he still wouldn’t have proved anything more than he already has.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't agree with that. There is something to be said for having the experience of knowing how to get a team over the line in the league. Ideally it would be a top league, but you don't completely discount it because of the quality of the league.

We better hurry up with Poch as I feel City and PSG might be interested. The scenes when we stick with Ole and Poch goes to City.

City downgrading manager isn't a bad thing...

It’s not that much of a downgrade tbh.

I agree with the trophy comment Robb.
If Poch becomes our manager he has my support.
But as he isn't I have to say he isn't a favourite of mine, or at least the teams aren't.
He likes a 4-2-3-1 set up with a high press. He likes to play it out of the back. Sound familiar?
But the stats I don't like is that the players run a lot, à real lot.
Spurs have never been a good watch to me, although excellent of course.
But Pool are a better watch, so too Leicester. It's all opinion, meanwhile Ole is our manager so let's stuff Everton
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The running stats aren’t just aimless running. It’s a relentless press from the front where as soon as the ball is lost it’s won back again very quickly from an all round team effort.

As for the entertainment stats - the Spurs side from 2016-2018 took more shots than any side (joint with City) and their GD in 16/17 was +60. A GD we never ever had under SAF.

Everyone has varying views on what constitutes entertaining football but what we’re seeing at the moment certainly isn’t. Imo once we see our side fighting to get the ball back right up the pitch and forcing mistakes to score plenty of goals we’ll wonder why we ever put up with what came before.

I’d say the same if Poch went to Liverpool. I doubt you’d be much worse off is he was your manager. He was pretty much equal with Klopp back in 2018. But one side bought VVD and Allison and the other didnt spend money or 500+ days.

Had Liverpool not spent that money for 500+ days and Spurs bought those two I’m fairly certain things would have turned out differently.

Given Poch's quite appalling record with signing forwards I'd say he was VERY lucky to have Kane come through.

He signed Son.

Why would he be needing to sign a top forward if he already had Kane? What top strikers would come in and sit on the bench every week?

that kind of negates your whole he didnt spend anything for 500 days though.

he didnt really need to, he had possible the best cb pairing in the league and one the best forwards and a decent at the time ali

Of course he needed to 😂

We spent loads on our side after the 1999 treble with the likes of Veron, Ruud, Barthez etc coming in over the next couple of seasons. Every side needs freshening up.

Anyone think Brendan Rodgers would be a better choice than Poch.

--------------------------------------------------

The football would be more enjoyable which is what I would want from the next manager but that wouldn't necessarily make Rodgers a better option than Pochettino.

The same would be true of Erik ten Hag who would be my first choice. Nagelsmann appeals as well.

I just want a manager who'll get this team to pass the ball and attack with some cohesion and bravery. It's not much to ask.

Signed Lucas. Scored a hat trick that made a CL final. Signed Llorente. Scored a goal that made a semi final.

With Kane playing every week he didn’t really need to sign a forward as much as other parts of the squad were needed.

There are, and always, have been who get a team playing better than it's parts, by effort and organisation. From Pulis, to Dyche, to the guy at Southampton à and Sheffield United and Poch in my eyes. It's admirable.
But does it leave room for Matt Le Tiss, Berba, even Scholes didn't cover the pitch. RVN and RVP.
These are my raison d'être for watching football.
If I was a Burnley fan I would be grateful but not excited

Signings are always needed to freshen up a squad. Name one big club that would not suffer from over 500 days without a signing. Spurs had a good team but sold their best right back. Their defence was getting old and needed refreshing. Their midfield was ageing too with Dembele on his last legs and Wanyama on his way out.

What a horrifically basic way of looking at things. As expected. You must surely realise that the move to Wembley and the lack of signings stopped Poch from achieving with Spurs what Klopp did with Liverpool.

I remember Klopp was a massive choker too. 6 finals lost in a row 😂😂

Amazing what a club backing the manager does.
