Playing Özil tonight would not have helped, we were outworked as it was, it was cold and raining and we were up against it - Özil would have been hiding...
Martinez was playing for the other team
He's got a lot of questions to answer at the moment. I don't mind him stamping his authority with Ozil he's made a decision and said this player is not for me but he has to make it work which he isn't doing at the moment. Playing the likes of Willian at the moment is not helping his cause and this obsession of playing a back 5 is just not working.
He seems to tinker for the sake of tinkering.
A 4231 of Leno, Bellerin (who is shocking at the moment), Luiz, Gabriel, Tierney, Partey, Elneny/Xhaka, Ceballos or Willock at 10, Saka, Auba and Pepe will win more than they lose. And they WILL lose...but there will be more going forward. More threat. We have played Leicester, Man UTD and Villa in the league...how many instances can you remember of us working the goalies? I honestly can't.
And what the hell is happening with Saliba?? I know his mum passed away but surely he should be getting eased into the squad no? He was supposed to be one of the best young talents in Europe. His previous partner (Fofana) at Leicester is lighting up the league...Saliba is supposed to be BETTER. Tired of seeing Holding getting skinned down the right with Bellerin NOWHERE to be seen.
I’m hearing work has begun drafting a syllabus for an Arteta coaching degree. Hopefully it becomes widespread so all clubs can bask in this kind of greatness
He got off to a pretty decent start and we have been very impressive in some games. But he’s clearly been figured out, especially in how we attack. We’ve never looked great going forward with him, but it’s even worse now. His playing out from back to launch attacks just isn’t working now, and seems to have lead to destroying our attackers chemistry
We’ve not got a quality squad so can’t expect title worthy performances every week but with what we have we should not be this woeful especially going forward. He has to fix this quickly, and stop being quite so obsessed with us just being solid at the back. Obviously we still need to be good defensively but not at the cost of being unable to create anything. We’ve gone too far being ridged and planned in everything we do, that once our system isn’t working we’re fecked. He needs to find a balance and bring some spark and spontaneity back into this team
I hope this is his low point, he learns and we push on from here. Every manager has a low, it’s how they respond that makes them good managers. If there’s no adapting from where we are now, Arteta will drift towards the sack.

Lampard is no better just wait and see.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Correct. Lampard can’t coach a defence to save his life. He’s conceded a massive 10 league goals compared to Arsenal’s mere 10 with Arteta’s revolutionary 10 man bus tactic

He should have he's just spent 200 million, doubt he will be their manager in 18 months time. I've not seen anything from him so far to say he's a great coach.
Spending money means you should be successful that’s correct.
Pepe competing for the Balon d’Or this year then?
50m Lacazette must be scoring sh’t loads as well
50m Aubameyang has been on fire since signing that very cheap contract
Again with the good old Auba through the middle argument when most of his goals have come from the wing lol.
If you think he's going to be any better in centrally you are deluding yourself, he's been tried there before by Emery lol. In the prem he's just not good enough to play in the middle where he has less time on the ball, have you seen his first touch? Its not good enough and thats whats needed to play there.
Don't do this to yourself lol

Agreed. There’s a section on the syllabus built around how to buy match officials. Frank needs to take note

None of these players were (initially) signed by Arteta. A lot of them aren't 'his' players. This is not the case at all with Frank Lampard.

Have to agree with this one.
Bar his pace, there isn't much he can offer centrally.
So people want Laca dropped, but not replaced with one of the most lethal strikers in world football?
