Middle East expert, Dr Kristian Ulrichsen, recently spoke to The Independent about the potential new Derby County owner. He stated that this takeover “doesn’t have the backing of the state” – referring to the United Arab Emirates – and he also said that this takeover is “more of a Sheffield United than a Man City,” with the Middle East expert then going on to urge Rams supporters to “be realistic” with their investment expectations.

However, Dr Ulrichsen also shared that it was “very hard” to even get information on the man behind this Derby County takeover bid, so given that there doesn’t seem to be a lot known about the man, perhaps it is unclear what Derby fans should expect in terms of investment, at present.

Judging by what Cutcher had to say on this podcast, it seems as though he thinks this takeover would be a good thing for Derby. His expectations seemingly aren’t sky-high, but he does seem to think that this takeover could lead to an increase in transfer spending for the Rams. Should this takeover go through before the transfer window re-opens in January, perhaps that will give us an early indication of what Rams fans should expect moving forward and it will be interesting to see what happens as we learn more about the potential new Derby owners
