It's not because "asians prefer cricket" because I'd argue that more british asians much prefer football to cricket. It's to do with family pressures and racism(give clark carlisle's documentary of racism in football a watch). Attitudes and cultures are changing so in the next 15 years expect more asian-british footballers

The Asian parents wanting education or cricket (stereotypical) is a myth now and a easy get out clause. First generation yes but now 2nd generation are no different to white/black parents and if your kid has talent they will pursue it.

Truth is coaches don't want to pick Asian kids.

At the moment the safer option for coaches is to pick the white/black kids over Asian because there isn't much a precedent but I expect more Asians to breakthrough as more join academies

The reason there are no good South Asian countries is because those countries generally don't give much of a shīt about football.

Its not something you can extrapolate to British Asians, many of whom are as football mad as any other Brit.

So as I said, unless you are offering a genetic reason here, it is a nonsense argument

There may be some very big football fans. But it is nowhere near the most popular sport there, and as a result there is pretty much no grassroots infrastructure

They don't exactly clean up in athletics such as 100m sprinting competitions neither, American and Jamaicans dominate that dicipline. Kenyan's and other Africans dominate marathons. Asians don't seem to excell at football. Son is friggin brilliant though
