John Barnes is an idiot as others have said.
I don’t think not being English had anything to do about it, Klopp had proven his quality prior to Liverpool which is why he was afforded time without necessarily the best results.
It's not as if it was even that bad. Yes the league campaign in his first partial season was disappointing, but he guided us to two finals including a European one without as much as a pre-season or even any signings. Then the following season got us into the CL. All while implementing a clear style of play which was exciting.

Yes the league campaign in his first partial season was disappointing, but he guided us to two finals including a European one without as much as a pre-season or even any signings. Then the following season got us into the CL. All while implementing a clear style of play which was exciting.

He actually over achieved with the European journey first season with a poor side and almost got us CL football
The rest is history
I'd think the Liverpool board were looking at what Klopp has done in his time in Football and not his skin colour!..
Sometimes the racist card can be taken to far, it seems Barnes is trying to make something of it or he's jealous of what Klopp has or is doing!..
If Klopp were a different colour it wouldn't have made any difference to what he's done at Dortmund or Liverpool!..

It's good to get a community view on this as my initial thought were what is he talking about, Barnes?
1) Sacking will happen regardless you're foreign or not, look at the ones Chelsea sacked - all foreign!
2) Liverpool may have finished 8th but the guy just steadied the ship and following season he got them to the final of a cup?
I am note sure what this guy smokes but he needs to stop looking like a fool!
Unless he's got a book due out and he is drumming some publicity and we all know there is no such thing as bad publicity!

I think Barnes is bitter that his own managerial career has not been a success. He has been given opportunities, albeit at lower league clubs and hasn't done well enough to either keep his job or find a better job in a higher league. I don't believe racism is the cause for Barnes having a poor managerial career anymore than his comments that Klopp only kept his job because he is white and non English.
