Okay, so I have only played Demon’s and Spider-Man so far.

I would say Demon’s is the prettier game, but that’s probably to be expected as Spider-Man is essentially a remaster of PS4 assets, whereas Demon’s is a true remake.

As those who had played the PS4 version will know, Spider-Man is just instantly fun. So, so easy to jump into and have a blast on. Love the hip-hop entwined themes that go along with Miles’ character.

My only criticism of the game (and this follows through from PS4) is that I wish it was harder / the combat system slightly more developed / complex. I platinumed the first one, which means completing it on “spectacular” (hardest setting), and even that wasn’t a patch on, for example, a From Soft game. God of War is a game that isn’t renowned for its difficulty, but it is incredibly hard (I’d argue harder than any From Soft game) when you put it on the hardest setting; I think the developers could take a leaf from Sony Santa Monica’s book.

Great utilisation of the controller again. I think that really is the key, and it makes sense because the controller is the thing granting you access to the virtual world, I suppose. They rightly put everything into redeveloping it

You know, I’ve just said Demon’s is the prettier game, however, I’m playing Spider-Man as we speak and some of the facial mechanics are the best I’ve seen. Like you can actually sound out the word using the movement of their mouths; their expressions also seem to work.

It’s almost like some parts are superbly polished, while some are recycled. I guess that is to be expected given the nature of the game

You might like to check your power settings, as there is a facility to turn off your USB.

turning off the usb is reduce power consumption in rest mode.

Yeah, was gonna say, when you first set it up, it asks what mode you want. Power saving mode doesn’t charge controllers in rest mode; the optimum performance one will. It will also download updates in rest mode too

It’s not power, the front usb doesn’t charge the controller when in rest mode yet the back ones do. Weird hope it gets fixed

I meant to say the power options were on supply to usb.

Have you checked your power settings Hamilton? as rooney says there is an option to turn them off in rest mode,

Right guys, just competed Miles Morales. Just like the main game, incredibly fun and unputdownable. As suspected previously, the parts of the game built up for MM specifically are gorgeous, but the vast majority of the city for free roaming / side missions are not a drastic improvement on the main game.

The last mission and storyline are absolutely spectacular, I must say. Struggling to think of a better climax to a game (I’m sure there are many, but no recent ones spring to mind).

My only gripe with it is that it is very short for the price. We knew this going in (hence my decision to but the ultimate edition, which includes a remaster of the main game), but I feel that the remaster and MM should have been a combined £50, instead of £70. MM alone would be very fair at £30.

I’m gonna complete the remaster again but, as much as I love Peter Parker, I am going to miss playing as Miles and some of his idiosyncrasies: powers, suit, physics while swinging.

For now, it’s back to Demon’s Souls where I had left off after having just beaten that armoured spider thing! Well, after footy tonight, that is.

Hamilton, a noticeable amount of reports doing the rounds on Reddit that the front USB port isn’t charging the dualsense or, in some cases, neither port is.

All that I’ve read seems to suggest that using another USB-C cable will fix all your issues, if you have one?

I actually found that my front port wasn’t charging it (or perhaps was but extremely slowly), so I just plugged the cable into a plug adapter and that seemed to work fine - you can still use it as you play and all that

I use the port at the back so not a major issue, only found out when I was leaving it in rest mode and then the controller wasn’t charged. just a weird issue with the console..

How long do people leave their console in rest mode for, is it just when downloading something while you go to bed or what? I don't think I used rest mode on my PS4 once.

Mike, in honesty, I never turn it off (nor did I with PS4). Literally in rest mode all the time.

I think the only occasion on which I’d fully turn off is if I’m going on holiday or something and I know I’ll be out of my flat for, say, >3 days?

Also, I’ve decided we have been absolutely spoilt for a launch window in terms of games.

Both Spider-Man and Demon’s are exceeding expectations and just great fun. I remember getting my PS3 on launch and being a little lost for content after smashing Resistance and Motorstorm; absolutely not a problem here.

They fixed the charging issue with new update today

Loved both of those games! Resistance was the first 60 player online matches I had come across, it was manic!

Just bought a 12 month ps+ subscription for £37 in the Black Friday sale, ready for when I finally get a ps5. Managed to time mine running out with when I sold my ps4 which worked out well.

Also considering FIFA 21 for £32, said I wouldn’t and will probably be spending my time on Spiderman first but that’s not a bad price and I always revert to a quick game of FIFA if I’ve not got long.
