You don’t really believe Lukaku is a Pep player?
He’s a quality striker but he’s not right for every team and manager.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Possibly not but no matter who the manager is he’s miles better than Jesus and plays well in a Roberto Martinez side where he’s asked to be on the same wavelength as top players like KDB and Hazard.
I doubt he’d go to City as he would probably be too expensive for the profile Pep goes for money wise - but he is certainly better than Inter.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They’re different players.
Lukaku just doesn’t fit in a Pep team. Not fluid enough, not good enough with or without the ball imo.
But he isn’t certainly bette than Inter. It’s as good as it will get for him now. Only way is down. Maybe in a year or two when they realise they can’t win the big trophies if their star striker is only reliable against shiiiit teams.

He would score plenty of goals for any side out there and he does score in the big games. No doubt he’ll score against Real this week to further my point 🙂
Yeah, sure they did.
Lukaku has scored in some big games, but he’s not reliable in them. That’s not even something that can be disputed, I don’t know why you bother when the evidence shows you are wrong.
It’s actually incredible that a player of his goal scoring ability is so damn shiiiiiit against good teams.
Tbf Kane doesn’t really score that much in the big games either. I’m not for one second saying that Lukaku is world class etc but you could put him in better sides than Inter and he’ll score plenty of goals.
His time at United has ruined him in the eyes of many fans. Even then he scored almost one in two and against the likes of Chelsea, Real, PSG and Sevilla.
Time will tell where he ends up but I’m sure he’d score 20+ goals a season in any league in Europe, especially as he’s gotten better as he’s gotten older. Has many attributes that a lot of strikers now don’t have.
Oh fack off, Kane’s record against the better teams is much better than Lukaku’s. But then I remember when you thought he was as good as Kane.
Kane’s goals in the big games are mainly from penalties. I do agree that Kane is better. But not having the best big game record doesn’t necessarily mean your level is Inter.
Ironically it was probably Lukaku’s two goals against PSG that got Ole the job so fate has taken a big dump on me 😂
He isn’t even Inter level if they want to win the league. They’ll drop too many points against the top ten teams because of his disappearing acts.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s their defence this season which is really letting them down. It’s grossly unfair to blame Lukaku for not getting Inter to the title when coincidentally since he joined they went from 21 points behind Juventus in 18/19 to only 1 point behind last season.
He gets so much stick when in reality he’s the best thing to happen to Inter and sometimes carries that side.
This season he’s got 14 goals in 14 games for club and country. Scored against England, Denmark, Lazio, AC Milan, has a couple of CL goals.
He’s at his peak and should be playing in a better league.
Wasn’t a problem last year, they had the best defensive record in the league. But dropped a lot of points in games against top half teams when Lukaku disappeared like he usually does. It’s actually hilarious how often this happens with him.
Fack knows where we’d have finished last season if he was still at the club. Our record against the better teams was what got us third, we’d have probably finished below Arsenal if he was still playing in those games.
We dropped loads of points against Saints, Bournemouth, Newcastle, West Ham, Burnley etc last season. I’m sure we would have been fine. But Ole never really had the stomach to try and get the best out of a very good striker. Conte worked his magic and I’m sure Lukaku will get another 30+ goals in Serie A and Europe again while we hope Martial remembers he’s a striker.
I don’t think Lukaku’s flat track bullying would have made up for the dropped points in the bigger games. We couldn’t create shiiiiit for most of the season against the type of teams Lukaku scores against.

He’s at his level to be fair. He wasn’t good enough at United and I see no reason to believe he would be a hit at another huge club.
We’ll see how he gets in their must win game this week against Real Madrid.
He rarely shows up in these games.

The same Martial who scored more in the league last season than Lukaku in either of his 2 seasons with us?
We shall see. But crazy as it sounds, players do improve and Lukaku is doing the basics very well these days. He’s playing with confidence and isn’t the same player who had a poor second season with us.
As has been pointed out, many many attacking players have failed at United over the years. Lukaku gets judged very harshly even though he did score plenty of goals for us and has worked hard to get back to the kind of level of player people thought he would become.
Worth noting we wouldn’t have won as many pens with Lukaku playing instead of Martial.

Yes. The same Martial who has had one very good season in his career and who has been very poor this season so far. Only had his first shots on target in the league on Saturday.
There’s a very real debate to be had about whether Martial is the level we need up top let alone Martial. I’d bet my bottom dollar if martial left us he wouldn’t score as many as Lukaku regularly does, even if he went to Serie A

There is definitely a debate as to whether Martial is the answer if we want to be a top team I agree.
What there isn’t a debate around imo is whether Lukaku was good enough when with us.
42 goals in 2 seasons isn’t good enough for a 75 million pound striker either especially one with a suspect all round game.
Suspect all round game is being kind. This video just about sums him up.
