My God, I forgot he was England manager. How did we ever get to that point? I think I repressed that memory.
Don't get me wrong, he's a good manager for particular situations, such as relegation scraps and getting a team to be functional, but England manager?

It was only one game as England manager and then the NOTW sting put paid to that.

IMO I'm not sure Wayne & Liam quite fit the bill just now because the culture - of which they are part of. I am still with the belief that we're massively under achieving and that we should at least be in the top 10. That's why I'd go with Sam. He's an outsider who quite frankly wont take any prisoners.
I didn't quite realise how good his track record was until I looked on the link and it certainly suggests that he's JUST what we need at the moment....

Big Sam is a much maligned manager. He knows how to win a game and knows that if you want to play possession football you need special players to unlock tight defences. Arsenal under Wenger had Bergkamp, Henry and later Van Persie. Once he no longer had those quality forwards Arsenal didn't win much at all. City have struggled without Aguero despite dominating every game and what would Barcelona have won without Messi? As Sam very rarely had those special players he had to find a different way of winning.

Without these special players the only way to score regularly is to overwhelm the opposition defence with rapid attacks. This doesn't mean long ball Pulis style although that shouldn't be totally excluded. Quick passing through midfield to pacy forwards seems to be the most effective way. Leicester and Villa have adopted this approach with some success. I feel someone like Allardice will come up with a way of winning games. Fed up of being the "better" side and not being able to score or defend.

If the answer is John Terry I'm not sure what the question is.

You're welcome.

5hit myself at the Allardyce rumours. Think SM means Big Sam won't be coming.

Only 6 years too late with the technical director but we're getting there.

Another layer of management, another pay packet to find, another way to waste money. Never would be too early for a technical (what's so bleeding technical about a simple game) director.
