Arsenal v Wolves preview [LIVE]

Sounds like this Lescott signing is all a bit of a mistake. It’s Racing Mercia not the main club in the town Real Murcia. They play in front of a few hundred fans as do most clubs at that level in Spain. Most players are amateur or semi professional. Joleon knows someone at the club and agreed to turn out for them in one game which he thought was a friendly for charity. Then they announce he is playing in a cup game against a top level team. Sounds like the registrations might not go through in time anyway but he has no plans to come out of retirement

2nd round of the FA Cup today and the bbc are showing 12 games live on their website over the weekend. Draw for the third round is 7pm on Monday. Worry is that our nemesis Chorley are still in the comp. Maybe we will get our chance to get revenge for the game that was probably the lowest point in Wolves history. But it would be a surprise if Chorley got past Peterborough today

Apparently to mark the passing of Diego Maradona, VAR have reviewed the 'Hand of God' goal fromtthe '86 World Cup and have awarded Manchester united a penalty.

I’ve been to Murcia. It’s quite a big village, remarkably it’s even got its own airport.

Brilliant and they sent off the goalkeeper as well.

I've been to Murcia many times with my job prior to retirement and it's far from "a big village". It's a city with over 400,00 people.

Maybe this is where Oldgoldilox got the Lescott story from:-

Not a great day for Brighton’s Neil Maupay. Put a penalty wide against Liverpool then two minutes later pulls a hamstring and has to go off

Jota breaks the deadlock for Liverpool. £40m looks a snip at the moment

I've predicted 1-3 in favour of Liverpool for this game. It's now 0-1, Liverpool have had 2 chalked off by VAR and Brighton missed a pen! Dammit!

Ended 1-1, late minute pen.

Chorley winning at Peterborough. Could we possibly play them

There are only two teams in all 4 divisions that are yet to win a match this season and they meet at the Hawthorns tonight. Best wishes Blades

Mike Bailey has dementia it has been announced, what a classy player he was for us and no doubt integral to the teams of that era, I hope for the best for him

Mike Bailey was a rock in midfield for us, saw him many times always impressed by his leadership and solid performances.
Best wishes Mike.

Bailey was a driving force in midfield and one of the best captains Wolves have ever had. A player whose value was probably appreciated most when he wasn’t playing, cause we often looked half the team whenever he was missing

Never ceases to amaze me how many English football fans are not aware that the English football league has more strength in depth than pretty well every other country in the world

The Spanish 3rd tier has over 100 teams split into regional groups containing the reserve teams of many top and second tier clubs plus a lot of small local clubs that get average attendances of well less than 1,000.

The 4th tier has 360 teams split into 18 regional groups and clearly has many village teams. The standard is probably much closer to a pub team in England than our 4th tier

That's Real Murcia not Racing. Theirs is indeed a nice stadium, spent many long hours in the shopping centre next to it with the ex and the kids.

Oops replied to the wrong comment there somehow but yes everything below the second tier in Spain is regional. The local side to us in Spain was Torrevieja who bounced between 2b and 2c. Crap stadium but decent support quite a few English ex pats among their fanbase.

Yes I think the 4th tier in Spain is probably the equivalent of something like the 6th or 7th tier in England with small clubs representing their small town or village. Nowt wrong with following clubs at that level. I was first won over as a young football fan by watching a fantastic game between Bilston and Brierley Hill where Bilston came back from 2 down to win by scoring 3 in the last ten minutes. Probably about 100 people in the main stand but as a young kid the atmosphere felt great and it made me a fan of live football for life
