We had plenty of great wins under LVG and Jose. Even at times under Moyes - both home and away against Leverkusen for example.
Your memory is shot Mu52 if you think the great wins have solely been the domain of Ole. I was hardly LVG’s biggest fan but that period towards the end of his first season (City, Spurs and Liverpool) was better than anything we’ve seen under Ole.

We have scored four or five quite a few times under Ole, including in his first game and also against useful sides like Chelsea and RB Leipzig. Scoring more than three was pretty rare before him. Under Van Gaal we rarely got past two, as I recall. In itself, it’s merely “nice”, as a win is a win, but I think it does highlight a greater commitment to attacking play than we’d had under the previous three managers.

I don’t think it’s so much this. We’re just much better on the counter than we’ve been at any point since Fergie retired. Ole does deserve credit for that, we’re one of the most dangerous counterattacking teams around. But the commitment to attacking football isn’t always there, even if we score quite a few goals in games. This is the biggest problem with him.

In simplistic terms we look $hit whenever we try to slow it down and look ridiculously good when playing at a high tempo.
We need to find that middle ground for when we can’t sustain a high tempo.

He just needs to learn when to set up to attack, like last night.
If we played with those tactics and intensity against the likes of WBA, we would be up towards the top. I am hoping this will all be part of the learning curve.

As the OP has mentioned, Ole has provided plenty of entertaining, attacking games... the learning part I speak of is something that sounds simple, but it probably highly complex... When to let the players off the leash and when the risks are worth taking.
Plums like you would be the first in floods of tears if we set up to attack and lost to a WBA

Yep I agree with that. Keeping the ball can help see out games, even if it’s not leading to good attacks. We cede possession and territory far too often, even when leading.
