Haaland probably was unlucky to miss out when you consider Messi and Ronaldo are on the list. Shows that it's almost obligatory to put them on the list because they are the 2 best players in the world. Not to say they have been awful obviously this year, but it is quite harsh to miss out Haaland.
Van Djik won't this year I don't think. Last year he was better I think than this year. I think it should be Lewandowski. If not then Mane imo.

Thiago Alcantara, how did he get in there
I keep getting told he was a bit part player for Bayern
Will be Lewandowski and deservedly so.me thinks.
Good to see us having 4 players in the shortlist though
VVD for me played every game during our title run
These awards are always surrounded by the controversy generated by the discussion around how much team success should be factored in to what is, in essence, an individual award.
Looking at it from an individual perspective, I think it's ludicrous to say Messi shouldn't make an 11-man shortlist, considering he notched up 31 goals and 27 assists last season, that is, almost 60 direct goal contributions - from 41 games!
Unless, of course, you consider team success, but then...
Kylian Mbappé, 30 goals and 17 assists from 37 games, with a domestic treble (quadruple including the Trophée des Champions) and the CL final...say what you like about the French League, but they had 2 CL semi finalists who beat rivals from all the other top leagues in order to get there.
I agree Kimmich is a miss though.
Probably should be Lewandowski, 55 goals in 47 games last season is pretty mental for someone not called Messi or Ronaldo.
Sadio Mane (Liverpool) - Maybe
Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) - Mane was better
Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool) - Missing too much of it.
Thiago Alcantara (Liverpool) - Best midfielder
Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City) - No Chance
Cristiano Ronaldo (Juventus) - No chance
Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich) - Likely winner
Kylian Mbappe (Paris Saint-Germain) - Behave
Lionel Messi (Barcelona) - No chance
Neymar (Paris Saint-Germain) - Behave
Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid) - Best defender
It's funny to me that they even include players in the French league.

It's funnier still that Lyon and PSG both made the CL semis and knocked out PL, Liga, Bundesliga and Serie A teams to get there.
It should be Lewa. Any other choice is wrong.
French league isn't nearly as bad as some make out.

Italy maybe. Probably not Germany though imo.
Think Germany just have a stronger overall league. Would say the likes of Dortmund and Leverkusen for instance are better than Lyon and Marseille whereas the EL teams are better as well.

where's Kane, I thought he was the best forward the planet has ever produced
What a nonsense list. The real list should be
Players:
Lewandowski
Bruno Fernandes (pen)
Sancho (if we get him)
Kane (pen)
Haaland (if we get him)
Vardy (pen)
Managers:
Klopp
Whoever the Bayern guy is
Ole
Lampard
Rooney
Southgate

Forgot to add in:
Pogba (if we sign the right defensive mid to free him up)
Lewandowski all day followed by Thiago.

No, it doesn't, so we could ignore the fact that the French league is consistently one of the top 5 in Europe.
However, the award looks at the year in question, not the historical performances of each respective player or club.

Considering that neither Barcelona, Bayern or Juve broke club transfer records to sign Danny Ings, Jamie Vardy or Daniel Sturridge, I take from it that Arsenal are a bunch of fackwits.
