Greenwood's shot doesn't get past any half decent keeper and for Maguire's header you could raise Saka (i think) failing to read a ball across which would have otherwise led to a tap in, or Willian hitting the bar.

Arsenal were the better side tactically even Ole's mate Neville said so!

How have you looked at a table that shows you're 15th for expected points and 11th for non penalty expected goal difference and decided you're gonna win the league
....
That is because we played a game less and we also conceded tons of penalties this season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That doesn't explain why you have such a poor non penalty goal difference. City have also played a game less and are 6th. You're 11th.

We conceded more penalties than we have received this season. Arsenal had 7 shots 2 on target to Man Utd 8 shots 2 on target. If you take out Pogba braindead foul under no pressure, expected goals was Man Utd 0.39 and Arsenal 0.24. Arsenal expected goal was so low as they basically had 1 chance all game and 2 long range shots.

This is since he joined:

If we were so negative, Fernandes wouldn't be top now would he? We are extremely attack minded hence why Fernandes numbers are so good. We used to dominate territory nearly every match before Fernandes came but the difference is now we got someone with end product that makes the difference.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Gerrard use to top stats despite playing in negative Benitez sides, when the team is built around you it's even easier to look good and be productive than playing in an attacking side where you're just one of many cogs.

There's nothing wrong with that and it may even get you a deep CL run but to get a title shot you'll need Bruno to hit Suarez 14 levels of consistent performance.

we will go back above city, having played the same number of games, if we win tomorrow.

not that i agree much with hafi on this.

Think theres been a bit of confusion here, Hafi said that the reason united's underlying metrics (expected points and non penalty expected goal difference) were so poor was because they had played a game less, I was pointing out that citys were much better than united's despite also playing a game less so that wasn't really an excuse.

Wasn't making a statement about actual position in the table

ah, sorry, thought this was a league table reference...not quite sure what hafi's point is when the XG table, as you pointed out, just shows what the league table shows, ie that we have been thoroughly mediocre this season.

This Man Utd side definitely is the best since SAF retired. We just took until after the Spurs game to get up to match fitness after international break.

Half the scousers on here would consider klopps post match interview a bit of a meltdown if it were any other manager in the league

Lucky acquisition regarding jota...worked well

Wonder where they'll be without him atm

Brighton players thought it wasn’t a Liverpool free kick that lead to the Jota goal.
Don’t understand why VAR didn’t look at it?
That is why Jota scored.
Brighton players reaction was it wasn’t a free kick, so didn’t tackle him? Jota was able to take advantage of the situation and walk the ball into the net. Liverpool got their just comeuppance in the end.
There was nothing from Liverpool fans or Klopp about the Jota free kick that shouldn’t have been given, that lead to their goal.

I given to believe the above, reading this elsewhere. Having watched the replay on MOTD.....
There was a foul on a Brighton player. Brighton players thought there should have been a Brighton free kick, which wasn’t given, no VAR check was made either? the rest as above re Jotas goal.
