Thought Phillips, probably had the best performance, I’ve seen by a central midfielder in years.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Was thinking the same watching it. As close to a perfect performance as I’ve seen. Outstanding off and on the ball. Pinging passes short and long, always there to receive and ease pressure/set attacks going.

Needs to score more though

Meslier was fantastic yesterday.

Think with him there is too much of an unrealistic view that every pass he does should somehow be some pinpoint pass which splits open the opposition.

His passing is great for a keeper.

Ayling should be in the England squad, some as that, he deserves it.

Copper and koch are starting to get a great partnership going, im not going to defend cooper to the hilt because he has made a couple of mistakes and the one yesterday where the ball just got past him was an example.

At the moment he kind of reminds me off when he first came to the club, there is a great defender there, but you could see that he was struggling a bit here and there with the step up from League one to the championship, bielsa came along and got rid of those mistakes, so much so that he was the best defender in the league for two seasons running.

He needs to make that same adjustment again, only from champ to prem.

Was so impressed with alioski yesterday, played really well, another player who has not only improved further, but really taken his chance when it came along.

Phillips - faultless yesterday, such a composed performance, think he is another player who has now found his feet at this level, hopefully long may it continue.

Klitch and dallas - two good performances, thought dallas was a little quiet yesterday, but at the same time he didn't put a foot wrong.

Harrison was tireless on the wings, he is such a useful player in regards that you can see he always has a chance to produce something.

Raph - great goal, like I said on matchday thread, look at his head when he shoots dosent even look towards the goal, he practically sells a dumy because people were looking at where he was looking before he pings it somewhere else.

Bamford - look, if you can't see and understand what he brings to the forward line I don't know what to say, his play is so vital and he scored a goal that was unfortunately offside though no fault of his own, its not like anyone stopped because of alioski been offside, he put it away but then had it cancelled. Didn't get the goal he wanted but then again so what, he played a fantastic game.

Also, any team in this league would be more than happy to walkway from goodison with a 1-0 win, any fan would love to see their team walk away with not just a win, but play that style of football.

Yesterday was great.

Nice compilation of Kalvin from yesterday. Different level passing.

Jansson, White and now Koch have all benefitted from playing alongside Coops, my belief is that the guy improves the defence not because he is a top drawer CB but because he orchestrates the defence. I think he is pivotal to how we play.

Elsbels ... Coops ... really great point ... reminds me of hard-working (rather than God-gifted) players who latterly become world-class coaches/managers๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ†

All this and yet we haven’t played our best team yet (in my opinion)

Alioski out Dallas at left back and Rodrigo in....

Once Rodrigo and Raphinha plays a few things together I think that conversion rate will be significantly higher. Need a bit of luck in December with regards to injuries

Celtic fan in peace ... Have really enjoyed watching your long overdue return to the top flight (unlike the utter dung from my own team this season ). Even in the games when you haven’t got the result you maybe deserved, you could still admire the style of play. Has Bielsa lost his bucket though? Can’t be comfortable squatting like that, especially at his age!

Cooper struggles with one on ones when someone is running at him. He's slow to react in those situations and lacks a bit of agility. It's always been his weak point, just more evident now as he's against better, quicker attackers.

He's only really just getting a run now as he had a couple of injuries, he needs time to get used to this league a bit. I wouldn't be surprised to see him out the team by the end of the season depending on how good Llorente is though.

Best = agreed (all points).

Els, I'll take the disagreement from that remark, Koch was a good deffender when he played here, the only improvement he'll get is from Bielsa!..

Cooper has nothing to do with it, I rate Koch better than White or Jansson as time will tell!..

Germany I don't disagree but I didn't mean he improves them as defenders but that he consistently manages the players alongside him, he has a role beyond being just another defender, that is part of why he is the captain.

Els, he is the players choice so they see a lot in him!..

Respect and friend, usually they come hand in hand, but for one to lead the rest is something else, and I think that's something the rest see in him!..

Sorry for disagreeing, sometimes things seem a little different to how they're meant!.

I guess Cooper is captain for a reason?

I never want us to go back to playing the %’s and being hard to beat and trying to nick a result.

Win lose or draw, we shouldn’t change this style under Biesla
----------------------------------------------------------------------
well said liw im enjoying this year's football to the extent that a loss doesn't ruin my weekend.
we wont go back to that style again ( tottenham holds that position) but we should have a replacement preparing with the u23's to step in when bielsa retires.
never want to see a manager the likes of monk ever again. or worse colin.

So good people see football is about how you play and how you try to play. I hated us under George Graham, even if his style and brand of terribly dour football was needed to help us build back.

We could easily have ended up losing, but none of that would have taken away from how we played.

Love watching this team and Bielsa
