Hi Flash.

Ha ent seen you on here for ages. Are you well?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
G'day Biggish. I have been away for a while.

Combination of lots of things really.

You're going to think weird statement.............but I've not really enjoyed our league, without the fans. It just feels like watching training matches.

What makes that statement even weirder is I am kind of enjoying watching what I consider to be my 2nd team or at least my Scottish team.... Rangers. I think that's a lot to do with me really REALLY wanting them to stop Celtic doing 10 in a row!!

But i am more excited about watching that than our own league at the moment. My only fear about if Rangers do win the league is, will our press make it all about HIM?

Stop making excuses for the guy. He's clearly turned up at RM, thinking he's made it and hasnt put the work in.

Anyone who gets their dream move and then "struggles with weight" is clearly not dedicated enough to maintain his standards.

He’s the most naturally talented player I’ve ever seen, and it was a joy to have him at Chelsea. The fact that on top of all the trophies he helped us to win, he also brought in somewhere between £120-150M when he left makes him an absolute legend. As much as I dislike RM, I have been very sad to see Hazard have such a tough tough time.

I actually think his signing fee has indirectly been the root of his problem at RM. He was overweight and injured when he started there, and they keep rushing him back to justify his huge fee. If they were a bit more patient with him, allowed him to recover properly and get in shape, I bet he would rediscover his form. My guess is, RM will lose patience with him, sell him to another club on the cheap, and he will immediately be great again.

"thinking he's made it"

I thought he'd done ok for himself personally...

Interesting that there are no thoughts on this thread yet how he would fit in with our current situation. Today's Chelsea is set up so differently. Would Lampard even be able to find a way to fit him in the current attack set up, already a selection headache. I think Hazard has happy memories of his time at Chelsea, many of us would be fools not to welcome him back should the situation arise, but how do you see it working without affecting the positive atmosphere we now appear to have in the dressing room?

Tway, you obviously didn't read my post on this , things have changed, and it's a whole new ball game now.

Harley, totally agree about the whole new ball game, just now read your comments , we are on the same page, re my own stated reservations.

They do say never go back....& maybe even for such a talent as Hazard you don't upset the apple cart

But if for instance we'd sold CHO to Bayern as was nearly the case...would this have then opened up the possibility...

It's spit balling anyway, as we're only saying it because Hazard hasn't settled properly...we all thought he'd fly didn't we

He was never going to be a Messi as he just doesnt have the drive and determination to perform week in week out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you know what? I'm not sure Messi's work rate has been all it could be neither. I think he's more naturally gifted than Ronaldo, but when their careers are over, I think Ronaldo's CV will look better and he would have driven most of that himself IMO,

And that gives me dry boak to say, because I really cannot stand Ronaldo.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Think you're thinking about recent times tbh. Messi and Ronaldo both were relentless in going for goal at their peaks, week in week out.

There's definitely elements of truth there. He's not treating Real Madrid like this pinnacle of footballing majesty that they expect & 99% of players think. It's just not his nature to think like that, he's too relaxed/free spirited.

You know the more I think about it the more I wonder if he joined Real just to shut them up . He did always say it was 'the dream move', but he never really pushed for the transfer ever, I genuinely don't think he cared either way.

I always thought he was very settled in London his kids were settled in school...quite an upheaval really...& RM have were due/had a bit of a dip...inevitably

Even with Hazard’s obvious immeasurable talent, there’s not one part of me that would want him to return (including on a free).

I'm most pleased that our current young players don't have to put up with Hazard' low-grade mentality.
Would have rubbed off on them, which would have been disastrous.
Don't want to see any half-arsed player strutting about the place.

Hope none of our young attackers ever pick up on his bad habits of...turning up to the season chubby/overweight, constantly going through the motions, downgrading ambitions, playing within their comfort zone (handbrake on) and content with plateau.

Eden Hazard almost 30 years old, yet to make a dent in the CL...
He’s symbolic and epitome of the past, that Frank is trying to move away from and rightly so

It is frightening to think how good Hazard could've been if he'd gave a sh!t! If not on Messi & CR7's level would've been very close to it.

I wonder what it's like to be that naturally talented at any sport?

That's a heavily skewed and unfair opinion of his time at Chelsea.

Yes by all accounts he was a poor trainer and he has admitted as much. He has also admitted that his ambitions gave never been as high as Ronaldo and Messi.

But this typically agenda driven reviosism spin of yours is right out of the Fox News play book.

He could have played in any league in world football and he chose the PL, the toughest and most physical demanding by far.

He spend almost his entire career at Chelsea getting kicked of the park and always targetted by opposing managers. He never moaned about and he never rzm from that as shown by his injury record. We had plenty of players before him who were nowhere bear as brave and as committed on the pitch.

I wouldn't have him back at Chelsea now either accept on a free maybe, but I won't let his history at the club be replaced with propaganda.

I’m not usually for this type of signing, but I think that if we sign Hazard there’s a high chance we can get him back to performing close to his best even if just for like 1-2 seasons. And that type of performance level would be worth a lot of money.

Yep.
Without doubt capable of hitting the same heights as them (or being close to them, which he hasn't ever been).
Unfortunately his application is rotten.
I've never had any confidence in Hazard that he ever wanted to improve his goals output thus become a ruthless goalscorer, it's all fun and games for him.

There's a balance.
Having fun and significantly improving goals output aren't mutually exclusive, can strike the right balance.
Hazard hasn't struck that balance and never will.

Talent is unquestionable.
Just doesn't have the (elite) inner belief, application, drive, mentality to match the immeasurable talent.

People are different. It was frustrating sometimes wondering the caliber of player he could've been if he took his career just a bit more seriously, but at the end of the day he was who he was & I wouldn't change it, a delightful player to watch do his thing.

Way I look at it is if he did have that inner drive to be the best we wouldn't have been fortunate enough to get seven years of him - even going through the motions it was clear he'd outgrown us by the time Conte rocked up.
