Ferrari didn't have the fastest car in 2018 and 2019,they had a car on certain circuits that could match or be slightly better than the Mercs.
Anyone who isn't very stupid would probably say it's a mixture of the quality of the car, the ability of the driver, and the strategy of the team. In the same car as Hamilton, Bottas wouldn't have run away with the title, and Hamilton seems to have done pretty well over the years when he hasn't been in the fastest car. I'm not particularly into motorsports but one other thing even I have picked up is that speed in practice and qualifying isn't the same as race speed. If George Russell wins the grand prix, then he's probably a bit special.

'Come in Valtteri we are doing a 2 stop' when he's leading only to find the tyres that Hamilton was biiitching about for the last 10 laps can suddenly come good for him to finish the race on.
Well let’s see where he finishes on Sunday. That’s when it counts. Bottas been setting fasted laps in free practice all year.

1 World championship in 7 seasons UNTIL he got the Merc,THE most dominant car in the history of F1.
I'm not a massive F1 fan but my dad loves it. He reckons if you want to know how good a driver is, look at how they do in wet conditions.
Senna used to excel in the rain, Schumacher was so far ahead it was almost funny. Hamilton is the same.
I’m a huge F1 fan, there’s a lot more to it than just driving around a race or street circuit. The engineering required for the aerodynamics, teams strategy calls, the right setup for each track and more, I will admit it’s gone a bit stale recently with the Merc dominance but fair play to them, they’ve created a monster of a car as well as an engine.

But he didn’t win it did he, and also similarly to Liverpool of recent years weren’t his team done for espionage that season as well and kicked out of the constructors ?

Lewis is a superb driver, but IMO nowhere near the list of greats. Compare with Schumacher who he’s now equalled. In all but two of Lewis world championships his teammate has finished 2nd in the championship, proving how strong the car was considering his teammates are hardly a whose who of drivers. Compare this to Schumacher, who despite being claimed always had the best car, only twice out of his 7 did his teammates manage to finish second...the Ferrari in that era was only the better car when driven by MS (albeit he also had a huge input into how the car was developed), the current era Mercedes is the best car no matter who drives it.
Also someone else earlier said you want the best driver and put him in the best car (or something to that effect), this is very true with Mercedes, but look at how awful Ferrari were when Schumacher joined, along with Ross Brawn he revolutionised them and it took a couple of years, if he’d went to McLaren or Williams at the time he would be out of site in terms of world championships.

messi has to use just his ability on a football pitch.
if lewis' engine is not superior to others his ability might get him up the grid but he does not win races or titles.
Thing is Schumacher resorted to being a caant to win. I mean smashing into Hill should've seen him lose that title.
