I think we are now around £2.2tn in debt now.

How many people who would not have died anyway, have, due to Covid.

Then you think about the insurmountable issue of people now with mental health issues due to redundancy, losing their house, homeless, unemployment.

You ask yourself if that finite % (and it is finite in comparable death numbers at the same datum point last year) has been worth it.

The consequences of this haven't even been felt yet FFS.

'Missing the pub' - FFS.

Bravo! 👏
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Great example of the universal constant of human stupidity.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And rubber stamped by our "leaders"

Had people been told NOT to travel over Christmas you can guarantee there would not be these scenes right now.

Further in the thread, the OP states that they've been told to disembark at Derby to get on other trains.. Therefore spreading the virus even further 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
----------------------------------------------------------------------

As if the virus wouldn’t have spread anywat
----------------------------------------------------------------------

People have this ridiculous notion that it just stops at county/country borders - pulls out a cigar and then says 'Ah - wur banned from there'.

Accept it - it's here and it's not going anywhere.

What do you want - those who were going to peg it - to peg it, or those who can crack on with paying taxes to keep the country going, cracking on.

Load of utter scheidt.

How many have died as a % of the UK population?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
far more have died than should have! however not as many as certainly would have if we never had the restrictions in place.

But aye let thousands more die because "I miss going the pub" or whatever BS some people say.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

There’s been approximately 4,000 that have died. Sturgeon has done all she can. And the idea she could’ve done more is ridiculous.

Excess deaths for the year of 6,380 would suggest that it’s not only people who were ‘close to pegging oot’.

I’d suggest that using terminology like that is more than just insensitive to folk that have been directly affected by this.

It certainly wouldn't if the trains weren't crammed and people weren't travelling by their bucket load across the country from heavily infected areas to lesser affected areas 🤦‍♂️

Indeed it is. We lost a friend last month to covid who had been fit and healthy.

Another friend who was also fit and healthy and only 29 was hospitalised for over a month and has been left with permanent respitory damage.

But aye just people that were dying anyway

Was amazed how close the two were the first time I visited.

Doesn’t make a difference if the trains are crowded🤦‍♂️ Takes one person to travel.

Since your so self righteous, what’s the solution? Should we have been in lockdown from March till all vaccinated?

No matter what else is said by others, the utter stupidity of saying that people dying were close to ‘pegging oot’ anyway is beyond crass.

I doubt you’ll do the decent thing after making such an incredibly stupid comment.

FFS - You can't protect every single person - some are going to have to take a hit.

You do realise the population of the UK is officially around 65m? Unofficially - it is probably around 70m due to illegals.

What do you expect - a miracle whereby the country can afford to protect everyone?

Absolutely ridiculous.
