I remember a number of years ago Lennon’s CELTIC went to Ibrox as massive underdogs as the team were very poor and Mulgrew in particular was a nightmare. Celtic were 5/2 to win. I had a hunch that we would win and it turned out that we defended most of the game with Mulgrew playing a blinder. Up steps Samaras with 2 goals and it was all over. Samaras has his one game in ten 😂 So OF games can never be forecast with certainty.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I agree that anything can happen but this isnt the same as that game. i think we were a point ahead and rangers had 2 games in hand. we were filled with injuries but this season we have been consistently schite, not unlucky, not unfortunate, just plain schite.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hard to disagree with that. Hard also to envisage anything other than a Ranger's win, but we're football fans so logic goes out the window on the day.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I never expect a Rangers win, especially not against the hoops.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, we never used to expect a Rangers win either

Different this time though 🥺

It's never good to be cocky.

Pointy taught me a severe lesson one night.

I don't think it's any great coincidence that the Good Friday Agreement came about in the same time that weed was becoming way more proliferate 🤷‍♂️

He said it would take 4 seasons to win the league and then make rangers competitive in Europe. He obviously decided to do it the otherway round and finish the job in 3

In all seriousness though Europe has been so important. The amount of money he has raked in is ridiculous

Gerrard will move on as well I think if he wins he has done as he said he would and will be looking for a club mid table EPL (no doubt he sees himself at Liverpool as boss eventually) standard to start cutting his teeth in England.
If he doesn't land the title I think he will admit defeat and say something along the lines of 'this is as far as I can take this set of players, I have done all I can'
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Has he said that?

I think win the league and he will want a crack at the Champions League.

I think he could sit still until Klopp moves but if he's said what Lex (official) is saying then that looks more unlikely.

I dont think Rangers have turned in poor performances in the last 3 domestic games.

Just because we dont win 4, 5 or 8 nil it doesnt mean you are playing poorly.

The scoreline was narrow against Dundee United but we had nearly 75% possession and 18 attempts on goal. Away. At Tannadice.

We had one cleared off the line, hit the post and should have had a pen.

In what world is that a below par performance? It was a decent day at the office, job done for me.

St Mirren - yeah - didnt play well. Made the wrong changes to the team and played right into their game plan. They worked their erchies off and deserved to nick it in the end.

Motherwell - lost an early goal and faced a two walls of players on the edge of their box for the next 83 minutes. Won 3-1. Excellent stuff in the end

The weekends result and performance will have given the team a massive lift. It was almost better for them IMO than a 5-0 stroll (not for the blood pressure of the fans though).

The tests keep on coming though. If St Johnstone are in poor form then the one thing I would expect is a bit of a battle.

Lets see what we learned from last midweeks tricky away tie.....

I keep seeing Gerrard being touted for the Liverpool job

I can't get my head round it

The best team in the world with the best coach, surely they're not turning to someone like Gerrard

A crack at the CL might see him hang around another season. It really would depend on what is vacant down south. Coupled with player retention/sales.

If Rangers follow our model and start to profit from your best assets that is often a catalyst to pash managers off
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I reckon SG will fancy a crack at the CL with Rangers.

If we lose the title this season then he will have to go. But hopefully it wont come to that.

As much as our model is player sales I think we seem to be trying to do it slightly differently.

We dont need Zungu just now. For me he he seems to be here as a potential replacement for Kamara or Davis.

And I think Itten is a longer term one as well.

I think our strategy is to have ready made replacements in before we sell the established players.

If we win the next OF game and end up best part of 20 points clear I could see Kamara being sold in the jan window if a bid of around £10m came in.

Which he is worth all day long to be fair - he is a terrific footballer. If he went to a more technical expansive league he would be a star IMO.

Clubs go for the sentimental choice all the time.

Celtic - Lennon
Barcelona - Guardiola
Chelsea - Lampard

The list is endless.

no chance we would sell in Jan, he will be playing at euro 2020.

Will absolutely increase his value

Gerrard said it would take four years I’m sure. If he doesn’t win the title from here, I think he’d have to go. But I can’t see him or the Board making that decision, and think we’d struggle to get anyone better.

Think Lennon would be gone if there was a clear candidate to replace him.

Lampard is the measuring stick for Gerrard, it was as a player and now in management. Fat Frank is bossing a top tier Prem team and Gerrard isn't which is why winner lose this league I think Gerrard will go back to England next year. He's proved he can build a team and there will be offers, not liverpool though.
