Penalty 'all day long'

I hope on his next appearance he 'mans up' and apologises for these two errors.
————————————————————-

He clearly won’t....because he’s a nobber and we all know that already.

I thought at the time Hagi had missed his head by quite a bit and that there was just too long a delay between the attempted clearance and the Hibs player deciding that his head hurt.

Thought was still possibly dangerous play but if theme the rules then the folks paid to analyse the game should know that.

I am also not sure how much Hagi deterred the Hibs player from challenging for the ball.

Did he not just win the header then throw himself to the deck clutching his face?

Hamish
I know he's on the programme to give his views but he comes across as such an opinionated arrogant wee vvank, and speaks as if his word is law. He should buy the rule book, and study it if he wants to be considered an authority on the game. Plus he should take off his anti-Rangers blinkers if he wants to reach a wider audience

Actually makes my blood boil when these commentatots dont know the rules.
Its ok for us getting it wrong but these cants get paid for this.
I thought it was an indirect at the time but it was no surprise that the ref ignored it.

The BBC are also also being criticised on other forums for not showing the Porteous tackle on Roofe in their highlights. I didn't see it so can't comment, although plenty of others are claiming poss. Porteous red card and a Gers pen.

What planet is the guy on.

As pointed out it's indirect kick at worst. Most importantly the Hibs player clearly waits a second or two before clutching his face and going down. He doesn't even mention that.

Truly embarrassing.

Unfortunately these guys are not hired for their knowledge but for their opinion.

Just done a Google search for porteous roofe. 1st article is an analysis from record sport.

Claiming to analyse all the claims. It's verdict on porteous is fee got it right because it's only a bad tackle when you slow it down. That's brilliant.

The Haji they actually say he kicks him in the head and it should be a penalty.

What planet are these folk on? Happy to watch replays to rule one out.

Happy to ignore replays (not that one shy be needed as it seemed obvious in real time) to rule one in

No wonder those rags are dying

Rats....good point! I'd like more appearances my recently retired refs so that the loud mouthed, bigoted, know-alls could be put in their place (showing my age a bit there, sorry)

Re Old Firm game, I just hope it's a clear-cut 5-0 hammering one way or the other....no excuses, no blaming the ref, no dodgy pens etc etc......some chance!

It likely will be tight. I'm hopeful of a Rangers win but I'd be satisfied enough with a draw

Not sure why Scott Brown has been dragged into the debate, but I didn’t think it was a pen. On a plus note we played some lovely football not confident about Ibrox but I think we could score at least, we will have chances, 3 weeks ago not a hope

I was genuinely surprised to see Celtic only winning 3-0 at Hamilton. I guess the conditions must have been pretty stinking if Ibrox was anything to go by.

Hamilton are bad enough as it is but when they are missing 9 or 10 first team players you wouldn’t have expected 0-0 at ht.

I took Celtic at -2 on my coupon along with Aberdeen, Brentford and Bristol City to win so they helped boost my coffers by over £300👍

We need a win, and for that we need Eddy, Turnbull and Soro to be at their best - and hope our disjointed defence hold it together. If he plays Brown then we're fvcked.

I wonder if he'll play Eddy and Griff together, I wish he would as when they're combined they're a massive threat.

Are Arfield and Jack out for the game?

Its a free kick anywhere else on the pitch

Can't remember the last indirect free-kick in the box other than a pass back I've seen given

Jacks injury seems to be rumbling on which is a concern. He seems to have turned into Jordan ‘he’ll be back next week’ Rossitter 😳

I’m not Jacks biggest fan - for me he is the least talented of our midfield players. But I do appreciate what he does bring. if Celtic play Edouard and Griffiths up top then not having Jack to screen in front of the defence will be a massive miss.

No news on Arfield yet but he looked pretty gunned when he went off against Hibs

Arfield's injury looked bad mate, not wishing injury to any player, but with Jack and Arfield not playing, it makes it a bit easier for us.

Tbh Celtic couldn’t have asked for a better run of fixtures than Killie, Ross Co and Hamilton so there’s no real surprise that they have strung wins together.

The second half against Hearts suggests that the main problem - your defence and keeper is a wee way from being solved.

Saturday will definitely be interesting and we certainly seem to have grown to relish OF games so we will hopefully be up for it.

We have a tough game on Wednesday first as StMirren are still one of the form teams in the country.

One of my bugbears the pass back thing. Almost never given. One in an English game this week that was about as clear as it gets and waived away. Think it’s ripe for law interpretation review like they’ve done with hand ball.

On the hagi one my thoughts were pen. If an indirect interpretation exists then, like, I doubt many on here were aware but happy to pile into the pundit yet not pile into the ref who should be the one that knows. Must be a scarf thing?

Anyway, United for us this week. Expect Soronto play then Brown shoehorned into the derby ‘because he knows what it’s all about’. I’d actually consider playing Soro with Brown if he’s so determined to play the captain with the advantage of calmac pushed forward being a real goal threat instead of row Z merchant.

The real worry is our manager trying to throw a curve ball which might well make it a 5-0 loss. We are too small though I see he’s posting Soro and Frimpong upfield at corners.

I’d go,

Keeper (doesn’t matter, each one is a potential liability)
Hamed Julien Ajer Laxalt
Brown Soro
Christie McGregor Edouard
Griff

Bitton for Soro if he wants Frimpong at RB.
Turnbull for Brown if he had a backbone.
Johnston or Ely for Griff once he’s fckd and push Eddy forward.
