There are only so many games, there are bound to be crossovers. If anyone feels it's a con, the easy solution is to not subscribe.
If Sony doesn't put top titles on PS+, they get criticised, if they do they still get criticised, they can't win.
I subscribe to both.
Its not much to expect that when part of what I pay for is the free game every month with plus that the free game is not one from the other service I also have.
And there are more than enough aaa titles for them to keep them separate.
I don't think it is that simple Mattyp. These titles a are not given to Tesla, it cost's them money, So it is not like they have the whole library of PS4 games available
As I said if you don't see value then just unsubscribe. I understand the frustration. But it is the nature of the beast.

I might do, lthough at the moment there is enough content, particularly the JRPGs on there, however having a like it or lump it approach to business is not a great way to run things.
Only because you dislike one aspect of a service saying well just get rid of the whole thing is a stupid approach to take. Id rather they improve things on the part of the service im not happy with.
For example they just removed Days Gone from PlayStation Now, that would have been a perfect option for playstation plus as it would mean it would be a game they were not already having on their current service.
Mattyp, Sony understands their business model better than anyone. and I'm sure it isn't based around a like it or lump it approach.
There is value in both services. Ultimately it is up to Sony to work out the balance. but like I said I understand your frustration.

Not sure if it had issues or it's been improved upon now over the years.
It's one of the free PS+ collection on the PS5 and one of the only games I haven't played from the collection (that I would be interested in) so might give it a go one day?
Days Gone was a very underestimated game when first launched. Since then it grown into a very successful game for Sony, which becomes even more enjoyable on the PS5, thanks to higher framerate.
Is it good you ask? I would say very good. I follow a gamer who rated it as one one the best games on the PS4.
It is a game you should definitely have a look at.

Is it good you ask? I would say very good. I follow a gamer who rated it as one one the best games on the PS4.

I'd say so yes.
On the grand scale of open world games, it sits below the big two from Rockstar, however it effectively pulls off the zombie apocalypse in the same way red dead does westerns and gta does big cities. all in all, I would say it sits comfortably as one of the best games in the tier below those two.
Game play wise the controls can feel a little clunky at first, however you quickly get used to them and it stops being a problem fairly quickly. as you level up you get new skills and your bike gets better parts which all but gets rid of any chunkiness with the controls.
story wise its nothing to write home about, the story is effective in parts and the narrative is good for driving you through the map to open up the world. If anything I think the story opening up actually takes away the overall feel of the game, not to give too much away but obviously as the game moves through the reasons for the outbreak start to become more apparent, personally I think it works better when you are just some biker guy from Oregon who doesn’t have any idea why it happened, only that it happened, not understanding what happened, just that you are left to survive and deal with a world gone mad was better in my opinion because let’s be honest, that is what would happen if you ever were in that situation.
If anything, the game does suffer a little from level creep in regards that usually about two thirds of the way through the content you hit a point where you get overpowered as your skill set, stamina, strength, "deadeye" and weapons become more effective than the zombies you are up against.
this is very evident with hordes (which are huge swarm of zombies).
The first time you come across one of these on in the early game you will crap yourself and either bug out in a panic or quickly get overrun. You will wonder how you will ever destroy it and get into that part of the map.
the first time you manage to take one down you will feel like the king of (what’s left of) the world.
By the third or fourth you hit your stride.
After that it’s a little too easier to do and you find it more of a chore than a challenge.
When I finally clocked it (there are a couple of good story closing off missions after the main quest is complete) I was happy I had played it as I enjoyed it, however I couldn’t help thinking that actually the weaker points of the game would need addressing in a sequel.
I mean, if they build on this, by improving game dynamics, side quests and mission variety, and deal with the level creep, Days Gone 2 would be a world beater of a game.
