No Saka Or Martinelli For This One

Both should play if fit. We need to win the game and sustain momentum. They can put their feet’s up for the FA cup tie that follows.

You also have to reckon that with VAR, players are better protected from malicious, tackles.

We aren't in situation to rest them for this game. We need a win. Few years ago we would rest players against teams like WBA and win, but not anymore. We need best team possible to win.

Martinelli and Saka should play if fit. Try and keep the momentum going .West Brom wont be giving us any gifts like they did Leeds

Can see Martinelli being benched as it solves Arteta’s problem of starting Lacazette or Aubameyang but Saka absolutely has to start

12 days until our next league fixture after this one, get the 3 points then let them rest.

A "circuit breaker" postponement of the league is possible, so imagine resting players for nothing and losing 3 points because of it.

The formation and approach being kept the same will take care of the 3 points. Since THAT'S primarily what's responsible for the results anyway. So need to take foolish and unnecessary risks with the club's future. Or did you learn absolutely nothing from Wilshire, Walcott, Ramsey, Kos and company?

We've already witnessed one generation of Arsenal players seasonally breakdown throughout their whole careers, because Wenger played them too much, too young. Now he was forced to do so because they were all he had. Arteta doesn't have that problem so CAN err on the side of CAUTION! And with our injury record, that's the only smart option. The rest are all just degrees of "OMG HOW did you not see that coming," DUMB!

Those whom don't LEARN from the past are doomed to repeat it.

This is individual. There are a lot of players that played every game when they were young and didn't have serious injury through career.

You do REALISE impact injuries LIKE the one Ramsey and Wilshere suffered CAN happen in ANY game, rested OR not.

Your posts have all the signs of a delusional PYSCHOPATH, with the rambling paragraphs and STRANGE use of capital letters.

So hopefully the police WILL learn from the past and LOCK you up in a mental hospital.

I'm defining "fit" differently to you here, For me this game is about fitness to stand up to a good physical whacking off full grown blokes.

There's "Fit to play," and there's "Fit to pay a relegation scrapping big Sam side." They are two very different things. And neither Martinelli nor Saka is the latter, to the tune of 90 mins. We try it and we're going to regret it.

"Leave some on him," Albion here we come

Martinelli got injured against Man City, so we can't play them against the likes of City.

In fact, Martinellis biggest injury came in training, so no more training for them.

Lets put them in a padded room until their contracts end.

3 days rest between BHA and WBA games. That's more than enough time to recover. Plus we have a fortnight break after the WBA.

We should absolutely play our strongest side. A win vs WBA hands us vital 3 points, pushes away from the lower section of the table, gives the club added confidence, and eases the pressure on Arteta.

I'd be very disappointed if we didn't use the same starting XI as with BHA.

Btw, west brom got a tonking from high intensity Leeds, so it shows that they are also suffering heavily with fatigue over the busy xmas period. Difference being, we're used to 2 games a week.

Play our best XI, set a high intensity game vs WBA and walk away with 3 points looking forwards to 2 weeks rest

Can't take much from the Leeds game. 3 goals were worldies, 1 a deflection, and the other a bizarre OG.

Think our luck ran out against Chelsea expecting a very dull game here.

Stop being ridiculous. Man City don't play club foot kicking Sam ball do they. If we were playing City or another footballing side, I'd still think it risky but that might be a risk I'd be open to taking.

But we're not, we're playing a side that history tells us will come on and kick the players about as much as they can for 90 mins. Martinelli not even fully back and Saka overplayed already, plus their respective whacks already. Mean the last thing either player needs is to be kicked up the shins and ankles for 90 mins.

The Shawcross tackle is a prime example in terms of "likely to happen against a side who plays like that" btw. But it was actually returning Ramsey too soon after a hamstring/thigh injury, which was responsible for his breakdown each season. Not the horrendous tackle which there was always a good chance of in any game vs a thuggish Stoke City

West Brom vs Leeds
6 fouls, 0 cards

West Brom v Liverpool
5 fouls, 1 card

Arsenal v Chelsea
13 fouls, 2 cards.

Maybe Allardyce should be wrapping his players in cotton wool to save them from injury against our kickers.

Wow, people really don't see that the tactics and formation are the decisive factor here.

Our strongest 11 doesn't have both Martinelli and Saka starting in it. Everybody is just ignoring the elephant in the room that is the tactical change by the manager and putting way to much pressure on these youngsters.

Don't know if it's jaded desperation or childish excitement and idealism. But I'm already feeling sorry for those two and ESR. Seen this sh !t before from Arsenal fans, just love to set the young star to be up, then tear him down and call him crap, when his luck turns and his inevitable dry spell comes. Not nice to watch and yet here we go again.

And, arguably the team that has put in the worst digs and potentially injury causing fouls has been Liverpool, the best team in the country at present. Another team we can't play Martinelli and Saka against.

Think we are down to Europa games for them, for their own protection of course.

DJ you can pick out random injuuries from teams who don't play that way all you want. Doesn't change the fact that a young player is more likely to get hurt playing a teams who set out to kick him in. That's the other reason our injury count was so high, teams just came out and kicked crap out of the players because they'd get beat if they didn't.

Just watch one of their wingers plough straight through one of the pair within 5 mins. There's only one thing Sam's boys will be trying to do with 3 nippy tricky little youngster snapping aroung the attack. And you should know better than to see that as unlikely DJ.

No, just the games where we definitively know the approach from the opposition will be "Just give em a good kickin" and the players are already not 100% meaning you can see huge potential for an injury. AKA just not being foolhardy.

As said, Liverpool are the team that "rough us up" more than anyone.
So Liverpool, City, Spurs, all the bottom half teams, all the top half teams, any team we face in the cups, probably the teams we face in Europa.
