He focussed so much because it was Ronnie. His performance reminded me of Kurt Maflin vs Higgins at the worlds. Out of nowhere.
He was never going to replicate it but I thought he would play a lot better than today. To be fair, he missed 2 or 3 frame balls and the match could have been a lot different.
