It is a combination of simple factors

1. we are not fit like we should be. we are quite a way off the levels where we can do the type of game we need to IMO.

2. we are not hungry, its patently obvious we are not as it more about greed and personal tallys up front than about winning games. esp mane and salah. they would rather pass it behind thier team mate than assist now.

3. a lot of the players have given up imo. you could tell from well out we hadn't a hope v southampton and by the 60th minute we were looking at some players going through the motions. compare that the last year where they'd climb over each other to get to win a game.

4. We have just not got the reserves to keep the side going. i agree that we have stolen all drive from the midfield to play CB. the fact we've not already bought one tells me we will be VERY disappointed by the end of january. the minute matip went down again I said trigger the buy and we should really pull the trigger.

Points 2&3 don’t bode well do they?

Moreinjured talks nearly as much rubbish as Got Better so I wouldn't be too concerned. Imagine thinking that players don't want to set up goals for their team mates because the final pass has been off the last couple of games.

another with the head buried firmly in the sand who will be all the more angry at the end.

Deliberately misplacing passes, I've heard it all now

I never said misplaced

go watch actual games. Watch how in a break neither man now wants to receive the ball early they want rid of it so they are the one in the final position to score.

salah as actually made it far easier on a number of occasions to defend against a break by not carrying the ball rather he immediately passes it on even if the player he passes it is not in the best position so he can make his move to be the finisher.

You're actually worse than GB. Never known anyone talk as much rubbish as you.

Bonkers. If you asked any defender who they don't fancy playing against this weekend I bet Salah and Mane would still be the top 2.

It might not be exactly what you said but it's certainly what you alluded to.

obviously not when I've clarified he will pass it very early at the detriment of a move potentially so he can be the one finishing it off.

The brain is a muscle like anything else. In the same way that you can get to the peak of physical fitness, but it's tough to keep that intensity for a long period of time, the same could be said about being so relentless with your mentality.

The reality is that the standards have been ridiculous for the last two years, no matter who you are it's incredibly difficult to keep that going physically and mentally for more than a couple of seasons. Probably why players like Jota and Thiago will be very important for them.

“... they would rather pass it behind thier team mate than assist now.“

Your words fella not mine.

I can agree that all of them front three are off form and cannot string two passes together

But don’t agree they’re doing it deliberately

With the form they’re in we’d be squashed by man city if we play them now because they wouldn’t be able to press properly and string two passes together, deliberately (as has been alluded to) or not

posted on 6/1/21

We always had one of the front three in form no matter what, the other two can have an off day and it’s fine

Now it’s all of them being off for consecutive games
