The two Romanians who West Ham signed off the back of the 94 World Cup have to be in the squad!
Veron wasn’t a flop at United, or are you talking about Chelsea?
Chelsea must be leading the way for flops, especially in more recent times - Morata, Bakayoko, Kepa, Torres.
Veron wasn’t as good as expected but no where near as bad as made out.
Still played fairly regularly in a title winning side.
For 28 million there’s been far bigger flops.
A few recent ones
Joelinton
Keita
Can’t for the life of me remember the spurs player
Drinkwater
Torres
Carroll
Pepe
I know it was loan but Falcao was as big of a flop as Sanchez imo.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
He started well but just wasn’t suited to this league imo. He certainly didn’t have the impact expected.

Yeah he never reached his Lazio levels but had some decent games
Considering his cost and the hype, which was well justified, Veron was certainly a flop.

No he didn’t but he was still a regular starter in a title winning side.
There’s a difference between not meeting expectations and being a flop.
5 from me
Haller
Joelinton
Pepe
Janssen
Pretty much any Everton player signed since 2010.

Arguable. He was amongst some great players so was able to be carried. Put Pogba in that midfield and he probably doesn’t get as much stick. Put Veron in today’s midfield and there’s nowhere to hide.
Paul Pogba - Juve to Utd.

Sanchez is the biggest flop I’ve ever seen. At any club, ever.
Just absolute, complete and utter bobbins, week-in, week-out. Just horrible. Terrible. Ugh.
Just so, so, so bad. Just indescribably bad. Just eye-torturingly, mind-bendingly, headache-inducingly, vomit-stirringly, suicidal thought-conjuringly bad.
Bad.
How’s Pepe not in this squad?
Loldado - Valencia to Spurs.

sigh, someone didn't read the OP.
anyway, always amazed how shevchenko isn't the first name in these lists, his transfer fee was c. £100m in today's money, and he left on loan after 2 underwhelming seasons before eventually leaving on a free.

I definitely think price tag should be a major consideration in all of this, in which case Pogba is a shoe-in.
I struggle to call Di Maria a flop - he was ok for Utd then got sold for roughly the same he was bought for.
Naby Keita isn’t a bad shout - from a Spurs point of view Helder Postiga is my most hated flop; was our most expensive signing or something at the time but ended up scoring as many for us as he did for Portugal against England the summer after (2). Hate the bloke.

Again though I’d put Pogba in not living up to expectations rather than being a flop.
I’d consider flop to be player who is consistently poor throughout the majority of their time at a club.

I did say in the op that I’ve pretty much ignored those still playing in the PL. They may still turn things around, though admittedly highly unlikely in Pepe’s case! Also, there’s only so many I could include in the main body of the article, the comments are here to add who you want 👍
