I can only ponder whether bielsa got his desired outcome. Out of The cups So his players can keep pace in the premier league. But then why play any seniors ? None of it makes any sense to me

We always implode in January and it always starts after a cup **** take. Brighton is a huge game now, imagine the panic if we lost that game. We never friggin learn. Phillips has now lost to Crawley, Newport and Sutton, he must be as fed up of it as Leeds fans are. Leaving Bamford at home as if he's some sort of superstar, he should have been on the bench, just incase Crawley knicked a goal.....or three

I've not been this angry with the club i love since we fecked up a 2 goal aggregate lead against Derby in the playoffs

Struijk and Shackleton have both done well in the PL when they have played. Don't think they were the issue today. Jenkins thrown into a difficult game for his senior debut, don't blame him for looking a bit at sea. Why was he brought on today at 0-0 and not when we were 5-0 up against WBA?

My issue today wasn't with youth players, it was with the senior players who got plenty of minutes and underperformed. Kalvin, Hernandez, Casilla all awful today, and Alioski, Rodrigo etc not much better.

We were crap from 1 to 11, thought Poveda did ok but he's raw. Greenwood is a striker and was playing behind Harrison. Just baffling management.

The lad at Arsenal Smith Rowe is exceptional and very young and has beefed up Arsenal's midfield and consequently their results have improved so young players can work but it's rare and in our case it seems we don't have that same quality in our young players.
I would like to know what has happened to the young lad we got from Wigan, Joe Gelhardt who hasn't been given a chance and he's got quite a few games for Wigans first team under his belt and was praised and compared to a young Wayne Rooney.

Don’t think the senior players looked too bad first half. We were relatively in control. Just the one set piece alarm and we were getting some joy out wide. Possible penalty didn’t go for us.

Second half the side is dragged down. Senior players no longer have outlets that they had first half. Just didn’t look like anyone wanted the ball last 30 minutes and passing forwards got harder and harder.

For me that’s the substitutes all over and balance of the side. We had more players playing out of position - Harrison striker / greenwood midfield.

Agree to an extent with Strujik - think he’s ok as centre back and shows promise. Don’t see him as a cdm at all. Not mobile enough.

Shackleton has done ok got us too but think he looks better with 10 seniors around him just yet.

Do you watch u23 games?
Greenwood has outperformed Geldarht this season. He gives the ball away loads.

I prefer Shackleton playing the Klich role personally, think his height is pretty easily exploited as a RB, and he just isn't that effective in those wide areas.

He has looked a quality addition to the U23's but Bielsa really doesn't seem to fancy him. Lubo pointed out he is young and they will have a plan, Jenkins is 2 months older than him, has nowhere near the first team experience and yet is getting his chance.

How are we going to accommodate more senior players, when they'll never get a game under Bielsa?

What do we think the team will be against Brighton?
My guess is without Philips Bielsa's options are limited and virtually picks itself now Cooper is back.

Meslier
Dallas
Alioski
Struijk
Cooper
Ayling
Raphino
Klich
Bamford
Rodrigo
Harrison.

I would play Shackleton instead of Alioski. Don’t expect Bielsa to though. Think you have the team that will start

Brighton playing what looks like a strong line up going into extra time against Newport and with Man City away on Wednesday is giving us a bit of an advantage fitness level wise you would think.
Let's hope Leeds can capatalise.

Bit harsh on Struijk and Shackleton who actually look decent. Struijk is much better as a cb though

If you're going to play so many first teamers, at least just play them in their actual positions and why leave Bamford out? He could have bagged a brace and come off at half time.

Annoyed about this for the first time in years, we are mid table and comfortable, could have a crack at the cup this year.

Pathetic.

Btw, has anyone got any links to where Bielsa has explained himself post-match?
