Here's hoping for a full and complete recovery.

Happy memories of Sol at Leicester

Horrible news.

I always remember about him that he was the one centre back I’ve ever seen who was worth the entrance fee alone. In particular the last-man drag-back on the edge of his own box when two or three opponents thought they were through on goal. That and other Bambaisms were a sight to behold.

Hope he gets better soon and gets his coaching badges.

Sad news indeed. Very effective on occasions but always entertaining; scored on his debut against Man City in the FA Cup.
Sad news also re the passing of Bobby Kellard.

Best wishes to him...I still reference him when a CB gives me heart in the mouth moments

Fond memories of Sol at a time when most players weren’t revered.

He was respected for having great ability as a centreback but the concentration span of a gnat meaning he got himself the endearing nickname bomb-scare bamba.

However he was enjoyable to watch abs at a time when some players weren’t playing for the shirt, I always felt he was and he did so with a smile on his face.

I hope he beats this and recovers well.

Great character. Debut goal v the mighty Man City inside 5 minutes! Unlucky to not have won and got taken to a Replay!

Best wishes for a full recovery.

Just want to add my best wishes to Sol & his family at this difficult time - my next-door neighbour had this problem in his early 40s and went through all the chemo etc., coming through it all well and is now fighting fit so we hope & pray for the same for Sol.

My own son was diagnosed with this and is thankfully all clear now after a long and difficult period of chemotherapy. Hope you go the same way Sol, thoughts are with you
