Aberdeen's Scott Wright to Gers?

I thought he was right sided? Dunno.

He was certainly on the right when he did Barasic like a kipper with a meg on Sunday.

Surprised we are going for him tbh. He’s hardly set the granite alight as it were.

Expect him to be more of a Stewart/Jones freebie squad filler type than a big prospect.

But sometimes those signings surprise you...

Left winger usually but plays on both sides and can play as a no10 or so i have read.

If he's a replacement for Stewart, Barker or Jones it's much of a muchness but i'm not impressed we should be aiming higher. Injury prone too.

He was OK at Dundee. Greg Stewart is the better player though

I have no problem bringing in back up for Kent as he is probably the one player where the replacements are a big drop of in quality when he is unavailable or out of form.

The main question for me though is the same as everyone so far is he better than Jones or Barker?

Barker maybe, Jones unfortunately could make a difference but his attitude and professionalism stink.

Seems like an odd move to me.

I'd let him go elsewhere. Guys like him, Barker, Jones and Stewart should be moved away from Rangers now, not brought in.

I think he’s a player that would look better in a better team, would be happy with him replacing Stewart/Jones.

He was a big talent at youth level. Surprised he didn’t have an impact earlier. Think he’s better than Hedges, not sure where he fits in but can play a lot of positions - potentially Cm too.

If he signs I’ll be happy - our recruitment team have been excellent.

Thanks for that. Had hoped for better reviews of the guy but I haven't seen him play. If he can play left or right wing, sounds like Barker and Jones could be off. Presumably we're hoping to get more for those two than Wright is going to cost? Plus, one less on the payroll

Hedges has impressed me much more than this chancer

File in the same useless bank as Jones, Stewart and Barker.

Need a much better alternative to Kent/Hagi/Roofe than those diddies.

Stewart is a strange one

Generally made an impact when used but then quickly dumped. Especially surprised not to see him when numbers were light and we were playing on plastic.

Maybe he just doesn't put effort in training

I love how everyone can write him off having barely seen him. No surprises our fans are always quick to judge.

My ideal window would see Jones, Barker and Stewart go out and free up their wages to hopefully cover the wages of a winger transfer or loan signing that could potentially push for a start. Although if Europe is canned it might not even be necessary just now.

Welcome to you Prof
Are you the fair weather type that appears when all looks good?

Agreed on Stewart usually does well whenever he plays and is a different type of player, creative and good in tight spaces. Decent finisher.

Would be ahead of Barker and Jones if i was in charge. Possibly further down as he's no resale value. Was the same with Murphy as well, clearly better than what we have in reserve but moved on.

He looked on Sunday. Looks to be getting back to fitness after his double hernia operation Bout 6 weeks ago.
We now look to have a good coaching team behind us who have improved players when we've bought them.
I think he maybe getting lined up with a future replacement for Arfield. I see him as a young Arfield type of player.

Agree would be ideal to move them on, Stewart looks a decent player, but we have great cover up top. Jones and Barker have hardly played but were free signings and clearly players that have been happy as backup - lucky they haven’t been needed. But we do need squad players - better for them to be homegrown so would be happy to see Wright come in.

We can’t have a squad full of guys as good as Roofe, Hagi, etc. It’s not financially viable, and will just lead to players being unhappy. We need players that will be happy to be backup squad players and play if there needed.

Wright looks talented, and if we sign him the team must feel he can step up

That's Lewis Ferguson

We won't pay what Aberdeen will want for Ferguson and I'm not convinced he is and Arfield replacement.

Nothing wrong with taking a pre-contract punt on Wright. It worked with Glen Kamara.

Ferguson would get sent of every week at rangers

Whilst Wright doesnt exactly scream Champions League I think he is a low risk gamble that might come good.

I think we have a few irons in the fire as the cycle of selling and replacing players begins.

I liked the boy Lundstrum at Sheff Utd last season nad would take him on a freebie all day long. Big, solid box to box midfield player that can actually play.

If/When Alfie goes and Defoe hangs up his boots we will need another striker.

And I can see us cashing in on Barisic and/or Kamara.

Bassey has a lot of potential but is rough around the edges. So we would need another LB.

Zungu hasnt shown enough so far to think he can replace Davis when he retires or Kamara if he goes.

posted on 12/1/21

Zungu can leave in the summer, i wouldn't entertain a deal to keep him. Gives me the fear.

I want Ferguson, he's the hustle and bustle player Arfield is with goals and much younger. He's a bit reckless but he can be tamed.

Bassey is strictly a cover player at the moment. Needs a lot of development but the raw materials are there. I think our full backs are so important that we would need to go out and find a first choice LB.

The lads injuries worry me but I'd certainly take him. Lack of options on the right is an issue, particularly when those options cannot be relied on.

Its a bit early to be starting the downsizing.

Good that the Rangers' board are finally seeing the writing on the wall.
