Wolves 3-1

Wolves season may not be hitting the heights of previous seasons, Injuries playing a key role in this.

But despite this I see a lot of positives which bodes well for the future. On the other hand having watched Albion a lot I don't see much they have going for them.

Even with our injuries, our young squad looks more than capable of getting a result. you can never take anything for granted, especially in a local derby.

but there are definitely envious eyes being cast in our direction from our local rivals, and I don't see that changing for many years to come.

I look forward to watching this relegation 6 pointer from our lofty position.

It'll be huge embarrassment for Wolves if they lose against this current Albion team which is desperately low on confidence and managed by a footballing dinosaur.

Anything less than a 3-0 win for Wolves and you've got to question wether Nuno can take your club any further!

Not really looking forward to this one to be honest. Hopefully we turn it around but a Sam Allardyce team set up is just the type of game we struggle in.

Local derbies are notorious for not following the form book, although one played behind closed doors will not have the dynamic that the atmosphere usually brings to these games.

It’s always nervy when you know your club doesn’t have the capability of scoring many. So I can’t see this being an easy game by any means. And if Albion are to stand any chance of survival then Sam needs to find improvement quickly

Overall there’s no question we have a better team than Albion and hopefully that will see us through on the day. I would feel much more confident though if a couple of the 6 players out injured last night were back for this one

1-0 either way

Have to comment on Cutrone. He has come back presumably wanting to make an impact to re-establish himself with Wolves or at least to get his career back on track. But rarely can a player with that mindset have made less impact from the bench than he has in the last two games. In the first game he did nothing but give the ball away, last night i'm not sure he touched the ball at all. Unfair to judge him on those cameos but he hardly gave the encouragement that he is ready for a run of games. Personally I wouldn't rule out sticking with Silva at the moment despite all the shortcomings from his lack of experience

I think Nuno wants to stick with Silva until he gets a couple of goals and gains a bit of confidence. Dropping him now for Cutrone would be like saying, you have had your chance, you're not good enough.

posted on 13/1/21

Best I can say about Cutrone is that he's put himself about with a bit more purpose than Silva. To be fair last night we created nothing whilst he was on the pitch. I dont think either of them are the answer at the moment but it looks like they're all we have until Raul is ready to roll.

Almost nine years though since the last BCD, and nearly ten years sine we last had the sublime pleasure of beating the bastardos. Too long. That last game though has been a festering sore and only 3 victories over them in the last 20 years. Some scores to settle for sure and I hope we do it in style but well, we'll see.

On the injury front Wolves are hoping that Boly and Traore will be fit for Saturday. Marcal and Podence late in January. Jonny in March

Everton winning at Molineux last night without a centre forward. Man City winning tonight and their previous league game without a centre forward. A new trend emerging in the game? Instead of wondering whether we play Silva or Cutrone maybe we could play neither

posted on 13/1/21

If Boly and Adama are fit again, my starting 11 for Saturday would be:

Patricio
Boly, Coady, Kilman
Semedo, Dedoncker, Neves, Ait-Nouri
Traore, Cutrone, Neto

I see the knives are out for Cutrone already, the guy has played about 10 minutes where we were under the cosh.
I suppose it takes a bit of pressure off Silva.

For goodness sake.

I agree with Amiga, I can see positives, it is probably difficult for the current team and coaching staff to get a proper understanding of the Black Country Derby, what a disappointment not to be able to go and experience the atmosphere, Cav had a very good game for Fulham by the way

Cav has been getting plenty of starts as well and doing well, meanwhile on the flip side, despite a good couple of games at the start of the campaign Costa has turned into the invisible man and leaving Leeds fans yet again asking how the feck they coughed up so much.

Some reports in the media that one task Jorge Mendes is working on at the moment is to find a new club for Nuno who if he does move on would like to remain in the premier league

posted on 14/1/21

It's in the sun, so it must be true:-

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno Espirito Santo's agent is looking for a new Premier League club for the Portuguese, who signed a new deal at Molineux in September.(Sun)

Just don't see a club out there that would be a fit for him currently. I guess perhaps Southampton if Hassenhutl moved on? No top six side is taking him because his reputation is that of being too negative. Everton and Leicester are set so that doesn't leave much unless he wants a backwards step.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Nuno leave the UK mind, I don't think he even lives with his family, his wife couldn't handle the UK.
