United have struggled at Anfield recently, I think it comes down to who plays in midfield for Liverpool.
Matip is more or less out and it will be daft to put Hendo in defense again. Team will be:
---------------------Ali
TAA----Slug----------Fab------Robbo
----Hendo------Thiago------Wij
----Salah--------Bobby------Mane
Despite one of the slugs in defense we should still have enough to beat United.
Head says Liverpool 2-0, head also says 1-1, but hopefully it's just a clean game and isn't decided by VAR
Honestly surprised at a couple of the pessimistic posts here. You're clear favourites in my opinion. Form is irrelevant in the derby - look how many times you beat us over the years when you were toilet paper - and on paper you have the better players.
I would be delighted with a draw, albeit I fear that would put City in the driving seat.
I've been looking and I feel what we did the last day with henderson in there due to no faith in phillips and williams coping with ings just messed up our team.
So for the OP, yeah i am all for not messing up the side just to cope with one aspect of the utd team.
The reality is we need matip back or to play phillips as utd proved last night that maguire and cavani need to be counters at every set play.
We cannot go in with henderson at CB, trying to head away corners and frees.
Then again we can't expect phillips to play and not get roasted by rashford or martial.
If matip comes in IMO our strongest side (minus vvd) is then available and all this talk comes down to whether our players want it enough.
Perfect opportunity for them to step up here.

Yeah I would go with Phillips too because Williams has looked suspect. Phillips know his limitations and will win headers baring in mind United are a tall side with Magure, Bailly, Pogba, McTommy, Matic and Cavani all airel options.

It’s all about the intensity for me and how we set the tempo. Get in their faces and ask their defence questions.
Our home record has been magnificent this season, West Brom aside, we normally turn it on for these big matches.
The high line is either going to be suicide or will give the team that compactness to keep the pressure on United. Can’t wait either way.
